Twins are fraternal if they are produced by 2 sperms and 2 different egg cells and they have a different yolk sacs and placenta . Identical twins share the same yolk sac, placenta, and amniotic membrane(you could prob just see one bag if its identical).

Btw, congratulations on your pregnancy hun and it must be really exciting to carry twins :)
good luck and hope you have a smooth pregnancy throughout.

I have to disagree with something. Identical twins do not have to share a sack or placentas. It all depends on when they split. I have 9 month old identical twin girls, and they shared nothing. If your twins don't share anything, then unless they are boy/girl, then you will have to wait until they are born to determine whether they are fraternal or identical. If they share anything at all, then they are definitely identical. We had to do a dna test to determine whether mine were identical or fraternal. Good luck! Carrying twins is totally amazing. Before it's over, you'll be pretty miserable, but it'll all be worth it. Don't worry about how you are going to do it, because you just do. It'll all work out. Congratulations!

The hospital should be able to tell from you 16 week scan if they are identical or not it makes no difference what they do or do not share it is all decided by if they came from one egg or two
