Q: Baby Shower Stuff

I was just looking for some input here. My best friend and her mom and sister are throwing a baby shower for me and my sister-in-law next month. My bf and I have been holding off registering anywhere until we knew the sex.. But now that we do, i'm not sure what to put on my registry. Lol. I know it's stuff I want/need for baby, but is there some sort of unspoken rule about the price of items?

The crib is being bought by my bf's parents, so I don't have to worry about that... Or a car seat, either. But if I find something like furniture or whatever, is it cool to put that on my registry, or will I just look greedy? Lol.

Are there things I should put on the registry that I might not think of? (oooh, I should ask for a vaporizer...)

also, I think it's kind of weird that i'm having a baby shower three months before the baby is due. Is that normal? I'm not really complaining... They're so nice for throwing one for us... But is it weird? (sil is due beginning of july, so it's kind of early for her, too.)

You can put just about anything lots of wash cloths, bottles, nipples, you can choose a theme like winnie the pooh or bears o you need a diaper genie and teething stuff o and if you are gonna nurse ( bottle feed you need lots of that stuff and um uhhh aww and a couple of hoddie towels you know stuff like that I think I helped there is no unspoken rule of the price just keep it in the affordable range.

I was told to put anything that I wanted on the registry. Since some relatives are going to buy pricier things (like the stroller) then it's fine. It's going to come off the registry anyway. I think most people are only going to spend around $40-$50 on a gift anyway. Just make sure you put things in different price ranges so that there's something everyone can afford!

My shower is this .Sunday and i've been told by a lot people that I should've put more on it. I registered at .Target and didn't want to look greedy so I put the bare essentials on it. Like one pack of onsies!! I know that people aren't just going to get what I put on the registry and they won't just limit their shopping to .Target, so i'm sure it'll be ok.

I left the 'big' off of the registry so that only my immediate relative would know about it. Only because I didn't want to seem like I was expecting a friend to buy a high chair. I did put on there an umbrella stroller because those things are cheap. $50 tops.

Go crazzzy!! This is your baby shower!! Put diapers on there!! That's one thing I totally forgot and hope it doesn't bite me in the ass!!

Whats also cool is that most places have online registries..I pretty much add stuff to mine every day. Sometimes I delete stuff too, like on targets site they have reviews for all the different items and they tell which products are better than others.

I made a registry of everything I needed/wanted cause I knew some people would chip in together for bigger things. Also I registered at toysrus but told people to buy stuff elsewhere as toysrcrap is expensive. I had 2 babyshowers and oddly enough did not really get any doubles of things but man my son has stuff for years! Lol

We went to target today to register, and I was like a crazy lady. Lol. Everything was soooo cute. I don't know how other places work, but I knew about target because I used to work at one... They scan stuff off your list when people buy it. Less chance of getting duplicates.

all the registries do, I think. I have different registries at different places but what I did was I made sure that the things that I put on my wal-mart registry were different from the things on my babiesrus registry which were different from my jc penney registry. Absolutely no chance of duplicate anything.

The girls at work will be giving me a baby shower and they normally all pitch in for like one big thing (like the travel system) and then others get whatever off the list. I put everything I wanted on the list that I need or want. I put double and tripple of things that I thought I needed more of. I went by a list that I found on the intranet.

cool, I hope you get everything you want. I'm not allowed to have a shower at my job, it's considered a conflict of interests.

well, i'll be registering at wal-mart this week, and i'll have to put some of the same things on there because some of the people coming to the shower don't have a target close by. :p
