Babys Heartbeat
Posted: 04-07-06 20:46pm

I had my drs appointment yesterday, I am 37 weeks as of today..

He did all the usual stuff, he hasnt checked to see if im dialated yet.. But usually he finds the babys heartbeat right away.. This time it took a while.. And usually the babys heart beat is 160 sumthing.. And this time is was only 140.. Why is that? He didnt seem concerned so I know its nothing.. But it freaked me out at first when he wasnt finding it cuz he usuaully does pretty fast

I don't know about the rate, but my baby's heartbeat has been weird (not bad, just hard to find).

The first time, it was right there, right away, and really loud. The second and third time, they searched forever for it. The second and third time, they heard it and said it sounded fine (bf and I heard it, too, faintly and for a few seconds), but we just couldn't get the lil man to stop squirming so we could get a good sound. Lol

It doesn't mean much neeko, heartrates fluctuate whether they are awake or sleeping and the time is nearing so he's not gonna come out with a 160 heartrate! Lol

Mine did the same thing!! I think I posted it on another thread!! Her hearbeat is usually in the high 160's but when I went it was 145. The .Dr said it was because she doesn't have any more room to flip and be as active so the heartrate goes down a little.

Totally normal!! I freaked when I saw the doppler and the numbers were lower...But it's all good girl!!

Yeah you will notice the babys heart beat getting slower as you get closer to your due date...Jace went from 170..And then the day I went into labor it was 110..Dont worry nothing is wrong!!...

The heart rate will probably go down overall some as you get closer to birth. Two reasons, the baby is growing, and the bigger the body, the slower the heart rate naturally is, and the baby is growing and can't move around and be as active anymore.

It's also perfectly normal that it might be more of a challenge to find the heart beat-if the baby got into a position where the heart was closer to your backbone, for example, it might take a little looking. Your doctor probably pointed the ultrasound at the place that it's been usually-but if baby moved, it might just take some time to find.

140's is a very normal number if you are close to term.

Blessings,
fiora

Heyyyy .Neeko! I know we have a lot in common!! Maybe we'll have our angels on the same day!

When I went to the .Dr yesterday, the heartrate was again in the 140's. I told the technician(who was a diff. Girl) that it used to be in the 160's and she was like ohhh, the baby just has no more room. Then my belly started to shift before she could wipe the jelly off and she was like oh man, she's really active huh? I was like yea, my ribs aren't to fond of her right now!!

She doesn't move as much during the day anymore, but at nightime, she's ready to tumble!!!

Lol...I catch my .Fiance staring at it in disbelief. Then it shifts and I gasp because it literally feels like her foot or whatever is about to break through the skin!!!!

I trip out when I see those baby shows and they babies come out and look sooo huge...I know they're folded in half in there, but geeez, it's hard to believe that all of that is in my belly!!

i think the same thing. Like; "my goodness! All of that is inside of me!?!" he knocked my popcorn off of my stomach and onto the couch the other day. I couldn't believe he did that. I thought he might be able to lift it a teeny bit but he actually knocked it clear off.

I've learned my lesson with putting things on my belly!!! I spill everything because i'm not expecting him to move for a second while I change the channel!!! Oooook, try again!!

I can't wait to see her...I'll be happy with just seeing her on an ultrasound again!! My next appt isn't until next wednesday. My car's in the shop and I gotta hitch a ride so I can't go on monday. I hope I can make it till then!! She may have other plans of her own!!

So, tomorrow will be my 20-week mark (god, time has flown...) I am 99.9% sure that on two occasions, while laying down to sleep, I felt the baby move. Other than that, I haven't really felt much. But today and yesterday i've felt kind of... Wierd. It's almost like having an upset tummy but not because I don't feel nauseous. Like there's a lot of pressure from the inside, but it's not gas. Lol. Is that him squirming around in there? Cause I know he moves a ton... The last two visits, they couldn't get him to hold still to keep up with his heartbeat. This is right about the time people usually start feeling movement, right? I'm just terrified that I won't feel him and will just wonder if he's ok in there. Lol

Unless i'm thinking of someone else, she doesn't know. They've told her both, but she's prepared for a girl, so that's what everyone's hoping for. Lol
