I have usual anxiety symptoms for almost a year. However, I just started feeling some strange burning sensation in my feet especially toes. It is kind of that my feet were frozen and they are burning now and tingling. Sometimes they are very cold. Also, there is a little numbness in my toes. I had twitching in my legs for a year but after examination (mri, blood, emg) my neurologist told me that is only benign fasculation syndrome. Twitching is quite annoying and I think that I developed my anxiety from it. As everyone else I was afraid that I may have ms, lyme, als…… there were also the other symptoms as fatigue, mild numbness, tight throat.
Does anyone know if this new symptom (burning feet) can be related to anxiety or it is something else?

I'll be calling my doctor today to see if I can get my appt bumped to this week. I want her to put me on some type of anti-anxiety/depression med.

I probably should have stated this before, but perhaps this was just me not wanting to believe this could be it, or that it was something else.

My entire family (great grandmother, grandmother, mother, uncle, grandfather) all suffere from depression, axiety, and ocd. I was talking with a relative yesterday, and they asked how I had been doing. I said "i'm always tired". She said "that's what everyone on our side of the family says" always tired......

I know it's going to be a mix between thinking better, and some medication, but did the medication help relax you at all, to the point where the fatigue and tiredness went away? How long before you noticed a difference?

I have left my lymph nodes be for 5 days now, and to my surprise, they're alot smaller. Perhaps me playing with them so much was what really caused them to swell. I thought I had mono at first, since my wife had it at that time, so I was constantly checking my lymph nodes. I'm going to check again in another week to see how they're doing.

I have my doctors appt tomorrow. I'm praying that she puts me on something for anxiety.

Well, my doctor doesn't know what could be doing this (ocd, stress, axiety)... And doesn't want to put me on med's, she would rather me do therapy first.

I said screw that. I can do this on my own. I picked up some nautral meds (l-theanine, 5-htp, passion flower, and st. John root). I got another one that starts with a v, but I forget it's name. I've noticed a huge change in my attitude since taking it, and I think my outlook on life itself is helping it too. I was able to workout yesterday for the frist time in months. It felt great!!! I'm going out with some friends tonight, so that should keep my mood up :)

i'm going to stop taking the singulair my doctor gave me. I felt really tired and drowsy this morning, so i'm going to start back up on my allergra, cause my seasonal allergies are here :(

that's all for now, i'll update in a few days to let you all know how my energy and stuff is going. So far, it's not much better, but I think this will help me get my life back!

Well, after seeing the psychologist once, she said I have poor anxiety/stress/depression cooping mech's. She called my doctors, and my doctor phoned in a perscription of 12.5mgs of paxil cr. I've been taking it since friday. I have been able to workout (pushing myself), but i've still been very tired.

Anyone been on paxil cr before?

How long did it take before you started to noticed a change?

Well, yesterday really sucked. I had troubles staying awake at work, I couldn't workout because I was really tired, and this morning, it's starting all over again.

Something has to give... I cannot stand this anymore!

I don't understand what's going on. I was eating very healthy, exercising all the time, getting plenty of rest, everything that a doctor recommends, yet I feel like this. I get angry cause I see all the over weight people walking around stuffing candy bars in their mouth saying "yeah, I want to lose weight, but i'm just too lazy to workout". They eat horrible, don't get any exercise, and feel great.

It's like i'm being punished or something....

I think my symptoms have gotten worse since taking paxil cr. I'm going to give it until firday. If the side effects don't go away, i'm going to call my doctor and request to go off of it. Atleast before, I could function and go to work, now I don't even want to get out of bed.

Is It Stress?

I have had similar symptoms for months. Fatigue so profound I can't really do anything. The other symptoms are also similar. You mentioned a blood test for cmv. What was the result? After every test in the book, my doctor did a test for cmv and it was positive. She gave me cliclovir (i think), an antiviral and in about ten days, I felt like a new person.
Hope this helps.

I wish.

Nope, results for cmv and ebv were negative.

I wish it was something that was known and cureable.

I don't know what it is. I've been on med's for a week now, and feel no different.

I'm going to go back to my doctors office and ask for more tests.

I'm in hell!

I cannot ignore that my lymph nodes are swollen.

Under my jaw line, under my arms (feel like a lat muscle pain, but it's always there and sensative to touch), and my neck. It's sore, and if I push slightly on the back, it's a little sore too. My vision also seems to be blured

i don't have headaches, sore throats, sore/swollen/weak joints, muscle spazims....

Yet... When I went away for 4 days, I felt better when I got home (left on a thursday, came home sunday evening, felt great monday-friday... Horrible again on saturday)

i just don't get it.

Not Stress

I know how you feel. It took me nearly two years to get a real diagnosis. I really think I had depression to begin with and the cmv was just a bonus. The doctors just keep testing and writing new prescriptions. I was referred to a neurologist and after a 30 minute interview, he told me that I was hyperventilating. The dumbest thing I ever heard.
Good luck to you.

Thanks man!

Well, last night, I was out at my aunt house and found out that i'm allergic to carpet fibers. I'm going to finish my immunotherapy, and see if injection fix my problem. That would also make sense why when I go away, I feel better.... But who knows.

Hey dude,
how long have u been having this,
i think it could be mononucleosis even though you've been tested it might be that, my brother just got over the same thing.

He had alot of symptoms and he had to be sick for about 4 odd months!! He got his blood tested n stuff n it came back negative, it was crazy then finally it just hit him hard he had the symptoms you had n stuff, ya and he had a sore neck and a terrible sore throat and just tired n stuff. Well if you are absolutely sure that it isnt mono, then go to the doctor tell him your symptoms just forget about how u went on the trip and felt better, just tell him what's up, n stuff u know maybe he'll know what it is don't mention stress or anxiety I don't think it can do those types of things to u, well just ya good luck to u man I wish u the best just calm down u'll make it through,
o maybe u aren't eating the right types of food ? Since you're so tired, and u just lost alot of weight and maybe your body is trying to get used to it.
Im no doctor but good luck I will check back here to see how u are doing <33!!!!!!!!!!

Hey,

thanks for the response.

Yeah, I was tested 2 months back for mono. I was already feeling tired during that time ( a month of so in) and it came back negative.

The problem with not telling the doctor about feeling better with being away is, he might make me go through testing that isn't nessesary.

I've been doing a lot of reading. You don't just have a virus or sickness, and feel better when you go away.

It's got something to go with stress/anxiety (which I don't think it is, because i've been stressed really bad before for months, and didn't feel like this)...... Or it's allergies.

I'm going to finish up the testing and see how I feel.

No different.

Something odd has been happening during exercise though...

This morning, I woke up, feeling up in spirt. Had a protein shake, and about 45 minutes later, tried doing some cardio on the elliptical. About 8-9 minutes into it, doing a light workout, I felt very tight chested, like I was struggling to breathe. I started getting a cold sweat, and my eyes felt really try and tired. I got off the machine, came upstairs and my wife told me I was as white as a ghost.

I'm going to be going back to my doctors and see if I can get to a specialist.

My doctors told me a few months back that I could not get enough oxygen out of my lungs. My lung capacity test said that I could only get 50% of the oxygen out, but could take in what that average male my age can do.

that isn't caused by anxiety. It may be an early symptom of copd, a progressive disease that causes your lungs to work less and less. There's no cure nor effective treatments for copd. :(

people with anxiety have normal lung capacity even though they may feel like they're not breathing enough.

Well, my doctor said after reviewing my chest x-ray, that that was ruled out (lungs looked normal).

The doc says its all a'ok, you have test after test done and all come back negative, you have symptoms that seem to come and go, but are generally consistent.
After a while, stress which is easily recognisable becomes like a daily ruitine, just thinking about something over and over generates anxiety, but your body is so used to it that it seems normal, in other words you are in a permanent state of anxiety without actually realising it.
Your breathing might seem ok but because you are so focused on your destructive thoughts, you dont notice that its actually faster, you hyperventilate and out of nowhere you are dizzy, muscles locking up and all hell breaks loose, and you think to yourself, but I was fine a minute ago! You wern't, you just didnt realise it.
The reason you feel better on holiday is because generaly speaking, you are actually forced to focus on things other than yourself, a new environment can be very stimulating to the senses. Your actually relaxing, really relaxing. Truth is, a lot of the time when you think you actually are, your not :p and a lot of people use the relax time to actually think even more about their problems.

I do know how incredibly hard it is to avoid those thoughts, iv spent six years in hypochondic hell, and still I repeat the same stupid things that I did years ago. Dont ever consider that stress cannot be the cause of a certain symptom, in the pass it has been responcible for all of these for me:
headaches, head tension
sore throats, feeling of throat blockage
chest tension, feeling like im havinga heart attack
gas, burping, stomach cramps, muscular tension
hot and cold sweats, weak limbs, hot hands/feet
lathargy, muscular spasms, bowel weakness
repetative urination, diarhia
and more:

probably far more than that. Stress weakens you, makes you more suseptible, small illneses last much longer than usual. Its one hell of a nasty circle, but the one thing I will say is this, if a doc prescribes medication, take it, I regret comming off mine last year. It can have side effects at first because they intervene with the chemicals in your brain, but that usually wears off inside a month.

Want to go at it naturally? : try this
eat a good breakfast, I alternate organic porridge with single egg ommlette. Have fruit juice in the morning every day, I drink green tea twice a day, breakfast and evening, with lemon once.
Avoid lots of pasta and breads, have half a sandwich and add more salad at lunch time, always have two pieces of fruit, usually one at brunch and one at lunch, change them around a lot. Eat tommato a lot, its a super foot :) I hate it raw so I have it in soup or I make my own sauces for pasta/bolognese. Try to home cook and avoid takeout/microwave, all those additives play hell with you.
Do not go crazy on suplements, your body will just reject them and you will see more side effects than results, one multi-vit with a good diet is plenty.
One thing not to forget, it takes time to recover from stress problems, months, even years if it has been ongoing. It takes the body 21 days to get into a ruitine, take one hour a day to really relax, I meditate, but some people do yoga, relaxing for an anxiety sufferer is not being alone in a quiet room! Like a quiet bath or slouched on a chair. You need to be distracted but relaxed.
A ruitine of good food, drink, relaxation, and sometimes medication with, if needed, behavioral therapy/support groups for at least one month will make a big difference, but it will not cure everyone, stick with it.

Anyway I have ranted long enough, im interested to know how those glands work out, I have glands up aswell, have had for three months, no pain and im worrying, but I prod and poke them daily aswell, cant help it!

Good luck!
