I have restless leg syndrom but I also
have extreme leg pain that I don't think
is associated with the rls. The pain is
usually at night when I lay down, it
shoots from my thigh down thru to my ankle
and usually only on the sides of my legs.
This all started after an exposure to a
paint stripping chemical. At one point I
could only walk inch by inch because they
were so painful. I oculdn't lift my leg
up to get out of the car or off the couch
unless I pulled on them with my pants.
Doctors gac\ve me prednisone and it took
it right away. As soon as I was done with
the prednisone it would come back. Then
it stopped after about4 or 5 months and
came back as a pain at night like I
described earlier. The only medication
that really helped was taking 3 "soma's"
at night along with 2 topamax. I feel
like all they are doing is covering up the
problem and not treating it.. In all the
researching i've done there is nothing in
the symtoms of restless leg syndrome that
come close to describing the pain in the
legs that I have. I know I do have rls
but I really think there is another
problem that the doctors are just passing
off as rls. Is there anyone who has this
too? It is also painful after I have
been sitting awhile and I get up and walk,
I feel like i'm 100 years old.
