Q: Pelvis Is Hurting/ambian

I am 24 weeks and 1 day today, I noticed on monday my hips and pelvis hurt really badly by the end of the day. I was almost crying. But isn't it too early to have my hips hurt like that? I have only gained 7 lbs and I really don't know why they hurt. I did do a lot of walking around during the day on monday, however yesterday I took the day off, and last night my hips didn't hurt at all. So maybe it was just the day. I had hip surgery when I was 16 and maybe that has a lot to do with it. Not sure.

Also I haven't been sleeping like at all, I was taking one benadryll every few nights to help me sleep but it stopped working and I was only sleeping 3 hours a night and up and down with the peeing was horrid. I called my doctor and she gave me ambian to take. I took one monday night and slept like a baby. I slept all night long but for one time when I got up to go to the bathroom. I dont' even remember it my hubby told me that I had gone. I didnt' take it last night, and I slept well. What do you think about taking that? Bad or good?

Sorry so long, just really tired and sore.

Genipher.

If the doc perscribed it to you I don't see how it would be harmful as long as you don't get addicted to it in a way that you .H.A.V.E to have it to be a ble to go to sleep.I wouldn't be worried about it,i think it's normal for about 5/6 months, there is a lot of pressure on your body.Have you talked to your doc about the pain?

No I havn't spoken with my doc about the pain. It just happened on monday and since I didn't work on tuesday and "stayed in bed all day" there wasn't any pain. If the pain returns today I will call her tomorrow. I am just scared that this may be of things to come and I dont' think that I can handle it if it gets worse. I still have 14-16 weeks left and that is a long time to be in pain.

I do think that the ambian is fine unless, like you said, I need it to sleep. My doctor told me to take it when I think that I am going to have a hard time sleeping. Once I lay down at night I do know really quickly that I will not be able to sleep. Like I said I didn't take it last night and slept kinda ok....Better than I had been sleeping. So I think that it was fine.

I am not a dr but it could be fromyour pregnancy as the fetus is growing, it could be a little post operative scar tissue or artritis which is sort of normal after a surgery after a while and you might have over done it a little monday, just think, over half way there! If it continues to bother you, talkto the Dr., let him/her knoe about your hip surgery.
Keep us posted.
Hope you are doing better!

I have been thinking about gettting a support belt, I need to find one. I have been to babies-r-us. I couldnt' find one, but I am sure they have one. I need to look a little harder or ask for help next time I go.

Thanks for the advice.
