Cymbalta
Posted: 04-22-06 08:54am

I recently switched from wellbutrin to cymbalta and have been taking the new drug for three and a half weeks. I am so sleepy and tired all the time; in addition, I have no libido coupled with an inability to achieve orgasm. I want to get off the cymbalta. Can I quit cold turkey after only three weeks on it? When can I start the wellbutrin again......My doctor said it was okay to just quit after three weeks.

I Wouldn't...

I wouldn't just stop cold turkey!

That can be really bad!

Cymbalta kicks in after just a week unlike wellbutrin and "normal" ssri's that take a full month!

I was on cymbalta but had the same side effects as you. The worst was "yawn". It sounds stupid but when you need to yawn every 30 seconds it makes you want to end it all!

I switched right from cymbalta to wellbutrin xl with no problems so I am assuming that you can take a cymbalta today then start on the wellbutrin tomorrow without the horrible side effects.

Talk to your doctor again just in case but I did it in reverse and I was a lot better off...

Good luck!
