I'm having a debate with my sister's boyfriend that twins have their own dna and fingerprints. He says that they don't. Someone who knows please help :?:

I believe identical twins share the same dna and have their own fingerprints. Everyone has their own fingerprints. Obviously fraternal twins wouldn't share the same dna.

Yes, identical twins have the same dna but not fingerprints. Ann fraternal have 50% same dna and diff finderprints.

Hehe I have twins in the family.

^^^ I agree with that... Lol not that twins run in my family but maury had a paternity show with identical twins and the two guys were both the father cause they shared the same dna. Yet it's proven fact that everyone has there own set of fingerprints. If someone were to have everything the exact same they wouldn't be twins they would be clones...Lol

boy do I feel like a dork! When I read what you wrote I looked right at my fingers to see what my print looked like. I'm glad my hubby is glued to the tv so he didn't see me do that! Lol

I've tried many times to hide it, but people see thru me. I'm awful at hiding things! I am who I am!

Tho, my hubby knew how much of a retard I was before he married me....So no returns! My family still tells him "we warned you to run when you had the chance!" if that's not love, I don't know what is!

Identical twins have the exact same dna, but fraternals have dna just like any other siblings would. As for fingerprints, since those are formed from the fluids in the womb, each twin has a different set.

*edit* - man I gotta stop posting right after I read the first post. Cuz so many other ppl already answered this exactly the same way.... What is wrong with me today? Lol
