Overweight - Need Advice
Posted: 04-24-06 12:16pm

Hello. I am 17 years old, male, 5' 11", and 235 lbs. I have tried everything from self starvation to the south beach diet to a wrestler’s diet and exercise. I am sick of trying things and not getting the results I want. I know that this isn't a disorder per say, but I do have a problem with my weight and I need to loose about 35-45 pounds. I don’t care if it is illegal, dangerous, or just plain stupid. I just want ideas to run off of. I have been told that smoking can keep cravings down but that hasn't worked. Please I need more options. Thanks in advance...

I Am Not Going Give You Advice On Eating Disorder Behavior

Some people in this section actually have eating disorders and it could be detrimental for them to read advice on how to lose weight unsafely.
You might want to try another section like diets, fitness, or nutrition.
If you have trouble having losing weight with diets and exercise, perhaps you are not meant to lose weight, at least not very fast. Some people just don't burn fat well.

I know your just looking advice so heres some, ive just read that if you cut out all meat products and adapapt to a healter diet like just fruit, veg and fish it would help with reagular exercise, if it is to hard to give up meat products compleatly just have one a day.

The most effective way to loose weight if you are serious about it is to set down eating and fitness guidelines and get a ' support person' to advise help and enchorage you. If you cant afford a personal trainer it can be just as good having a good friend to help you

Yes, I agree with what was said here. Just because you've tryed a lot of ways and they didn't work, it doesn'te have to mean that you don't have any more chances.
Look, don't give up, but don't forget that losing weight in your case can be good but only if it's done in an appropriate way, because being healthy is, I keep saying this, the most important thing.
If you want to lose weight by starving, for example, you may lose weight, but that will be bad for you, because you'll be playing with your organism instead of listening to it and dealing with it in a good way.

Hey thats a good point, and if you are really self conscious about your weight it may be hard to tell that your becomming healthier. I think you have to change your priorities personally.
You shouldnt be trying to loose weight as such but more become healthier. Once you start eating healthily and excericing more, your body should tell you your doing the right thing?
I think it might be a good idea to see your doctor about effective ways to shed those pounds?
