Fit Warning (the Product) Posted: 04-25-06 20:16pm
In my diet below I suggest using fit
(fruit and vegetable spray) to clean off
berries. Do not do this. I've just
discovered the fit has been holding me
back a little bit because apparently
soft-skinned fruits like raspberries
appear to actually absorb the fit and it
will not become removed, even when soaking
in water. You're essentially eating fit.
I'm going to complain to the company
since I read through all their information
and there is nothing about this. Stupid
fit. Water rules.

I had the same problem with a product
called "veggie wash." it has a lemon
scent and I soaked some mushrooms in it
and they all came out tasting like lemons.
Not the flavor I was looking for in an
italian dish. It claims to be all
natural so hopefully it's safe. I think
water with the addition of a coupla
tablespoons of vinegar is best.

I happen to use the same product, and it
says on the back, "not recommended for
mushrooms".
I guess we should avoid using this for
some soft or porous veggies.

At least they say something about it,
there is nothing on fit's website or on
the bottles (even the large refills) about
this.
