Ah guys im dyin! Im only 22.5 weeks pregnant... And im not big at all actually.... Jus enought to tell im pregnant... And well my back is killing me after sleeping!!! I sleep on my side now, and well im 6'0' tall and thin...... So when im sleeping... I feel like shes saggin my back down into the bed...Kinda like bowing me I guess..So i've tried sleeping w/a pillow under me..Which helps..But I roll off it..Or whatever..And wake up dyin..!! My question is...Can I use a heating pad on my back....? I gotta do something guys...I feel like if I can just get the muscles to untense...Then maybe I can start again trying to prevent it from gettin all tense again...And hopefully not hurting as bad. I know back pain is just part of it, and its going to happen..And thats fine...But im not big yet..At all...And it hurts ;( so any advice will help... Thanx gurls!!!

Hey krys, I am 25 weeks along and I am showing a lot, I have got a little tummy now, however I have gained between 5 - 7 lbs so far. I can tell that I am loosing weight in my legs and arms and my face has thinned out. Anyway, about your back hurting, I am not sure about a heating pad, I don't think that it will hurt your back in anyway. I use one on my hips because my hips have been hurting me. I mentioned it to my doc and she didnt' seem to think that it will hurt anything. When I wake in the morning my hips hurt because I sleep on my sides. I do sometimes sleep (if the baby is positioned correctly) with one leg extended all the way out and one knee proped up on a pillow and it keeps them from hurting really badly, but the back and hips are two differnt things. I am also a lot shorter than you are....I am only 5.1 and 130 lbs.

If you are worried about using a heating pad you can call your doc to ease your mind.

Good luck to you, are you haveing a girl or a boy right now?

I didnt' loose any weight 5-7 lbs isn't much and my doc is really worried about the amount that I have gained, or the lack there of. But the weight I have gained is taking a tole on my hips. But the baby is only 1 lb right now lacking 5 oz and they want me to eat more, but I am not too sure how to do that. I have added a snack in the morning after breakfast and a snack before bed.

I am having a little girl skoot. I cant' wait. We are going to name her .Amelia .Ann-marie. I cant' wait until my next ultrasound because it's going to be a 4-d one.

When are you due? In august?

Back Pain
I am now 31weeks pregnant and have had horrible back and sciatic nerve pain since I was 20 wks. I actually stopped working (i was a waitress) because I could not handle the pain. I am 5'11" so I know how being tall can be hell on your back to begin with. I don't think the heating pad will hurt just don't leave it on too long and hot. I would recommend one that uses moist heat. Also, tell your doctor about the pain because my doctor gave me some stretches that were very useful for you back and hips. Good luck

Kryss, I might be misunderstanding your post, but are you still sleeping on your back? I have heard that that is not a good sleeping position when you're pregnant; it apparently puts too much pressure on vital nerves.

If you haven't already, try sleeping with a pillow between your knees, on your side. If your bed is next to a wall (or if you can put it there), also try sleeping with your back up against the wall. I have found that the support the wall gives your back helps immensely.

Yeah my weight is good, but my doc is concerned about the weight of the baby. I just don't know how to eat much more food. I'll die of eating too much. And how would I get any work done stuffing my face?? Lol

anyway I am due august 7th but they changed that from august 19th to the 7th.

Hey Guys...
Yeah, ive been sleeping on my side, I haven't slep on my back in a while now... The pillow between the legs or under my back doesnt help :( it prob would if I could find one that doest boost me too high up... Or that I dont roll off of. I've seen the maternity pillow online..And im not sure if it will help where there is no padding in the middle....But im thinkin about getting one. I used a heating pad briefly on my lower back last night jsut enought to get the tension out and it really helped. I was careful not to leave it on to long or to hot... I jus feel miserable already..And im not big at all...Of course im bigger than im use to being. Im going to get my husband to move our bed close to a wall taht way I can prop myself up on the wall... I can do our headboard because the way its made you cant sit up against it
...
But I apprecaite everyones advice and help..Im defiently going to consult my dr and see what he suggests. If its going to be this bad already I can only imagine how its going to feel when the baby gets some size on her...
Thanks so much guys!!!

Have you seen the one pillow that is more like a wedge? I have one like that, and it works wonders.

My hips are a problem too. I dont' know how to ease the pain. There is a lot of pain before I go to bed after ive been doing wash and stuff like that. If I do a lot of walking there is much pain. So if you find out a way to ease the pain let me know.

I go back to my doc on the 10th and I will ask then too, what do you want a girl or boy? I am having a girl.

Hey girls!

August seems to be the month for girls!! I am due august 21st with a girl and feel like a giant house! I have already gained 20 lbs. Yikes! I don't even feel like I am eating that much more than usual.

Kryss...I am having the same exact pain as you. I wake up constantly during the night to change positions. I sleep with a pillow between my legs which kind of helps, but lately I have been waking up with my hips hurting. Also, I have been getting this shooting pain down the back of my right leg. Oh...The joys! I have an appointment tomorrow so I am going to ask my doctor for any advice. I will keep you posted. :)
