I Am Having An Abortion Posted: 04-29-06 14:05pm
I am going to have a abortion in 3 weeks
cause my boyfriend has to first save up
for it, but I am really scared and dnt
know what to do with my self! Pls can
any1 help me? I am only 17 and this 1 big
accident and I dnt know if I can go
through with this any more but I have to
cause my boy friend cant afford one at the
moment and his mother has now gotten
involved and says she wants to tell my
parents and I cant cause after they find
out I will never be able to look them in
the face ever again! Could some one tell
me if it is painfull, how long it takes,
if u can chose if u want a female or a
male to do it? Pls I really need help!

Oh you are in south africa.. I do not
exactly know everything about your
healthcare system..
I work in aboriton clinics here in the
us... Abortion doesn't have to hurt, you
can get good medicine to take the pain
away during the procedure..Like regular
operations they can put you to sleep, but
it does cost extra. If you cannot afford
it they will most likely give you lighter
medicine to help with pain, from women who
have had aboritons without "good drugs"
they say yes it does hurt, but it is over
quickly, very very quickly, and it feels
like intense menstrual cramps. Yes you
might be able to choose a man doc or a
female, but honestly I have no
preference..I have found both docs to be
quite capable.

The thing is that I would prefer to have a
female do it cause I dnt feel comfortable
with the fact of having a man do it! So I
am just hoping I can be able to chose a
female to do the abortion!
I am just very scared of the pain and I
dont really want my boy friend to be there
with me but he is taking me and paying so
I dont know how to tell him not be there
with me but to wait! How would I do
this?
Pls help me!
I really need help!

why don't you want your bf there? He can
offer you emotional support during
something which is going to be very
stressful for you. Besides, you will need
someone to drive you home from the clinic
anyway.
Like I posted on the other topic, they can
be painful, but nothing more than a
moderate to severe period cramp. Which,
if you get them normally, is easily dealt
with!

I dnt really know I just feel a tad bit
uncomfortable! Him watching... I just
cant picture that! Well I do get period
pains and they are severe but the clinic
told him that it is going to be painfull
very painfull and I think that is why I am
scared of the pain! Is this true or
what?

Did you have your boyfriend ask the clinic
if they offer "anesthesia", you know, put
you to sleep?? Maybe he cannot afford
it.. Yes it will hurt, but it is like bad
menstrual cramps..Which for some people
hurt..
Childbirth is wayyyy more painful than an
abortion, trust me on this.. I have
talked to many women who had babies who
were themselves fearful of pain during
abortion..They said childbirth is so much
more painful than aboriton.Childbirth and
labor also lasts days sometimes, abortion
lasts 3-5 minutes..And the pain stops
after that.

Just a question...
Do you know how they do it? (the
abortion) the thing is when my boyfriend
phoned in they told him that it would take
3 hours and it would be very painfull!
Thats why I am so worried! And he is
going to pay r900 so cauld you maybe tell
me why he has to pay so much? And whats
it for!
