I took yasmin for 8 months and have
recently come off of it. I'm
experiencing severe anxiety and had to
take half a xanax today to go to sleep
(i'm currently exhausted and about to go
to bed).
Has anyone else had this problem of
anxiety after coming off yasmin and how
long did it last? Are you still on
medication? Any other ways of coping?

Some women who use birth control have
issues with moddiness/anxiety/increased
depression, it is because of the increased
hormones in their system... This is not
for "all" women, because many many women
have taken birth control without
problems.
Now your body is getting off of hormones,
so the drop in hormones also can cause
these same issues... I am sorry that you
must go through this, mood problems and
severe issues is what caused me to find
out that I cannot tolerate hormones..

the xanax worked wonderfully, within
exactly a half hour I became calm and
slept the entire night through. I do not
feel any need to abuse this drug (it is
very addictive) but I do have another half
saved for tonight. My boyfriend is
sleeping over and I do not want to keep
him up all night due to my silly anxiety.
I'm sorry you found out about not being
able to tolerate the hormones; I should
have known when my health clinic gave me
free samples. Fishy!

Most women tolerate hirth control very
very well..
I have a family history of bi polar
depression, schizophrenia, and depressive
disorder..
All of my moms sisters have depression,
my mom has a schizo-affect disorder with
paranoiia etc...
I have depression, lifelong
depression..Not caused by any reason....
Just a chemical imbalance..
People who have family history of mental
illness, or who suffer from depression are
waymore likely to be intolerant of
hormones than the general public..The
birth control packets even have mood
problems listedas a side effect.
