Q: Car Accident At 14 Weeks

While driving to work a car slammed it's breaks in front of me and I didn't have enough time to stop, so I went into the yard on the side of the road and slammed on my brakes. The yard was wet, so it didn't stop right away. I went across the yard and my car stopped about one inch from a tree. My neck hurts and after I had a headache. My car shakes a little. It wasn't technically a wreck because I didn't hit anything, but I came pretty close twice. I am 14 weeks pregnant and very worried about my baby. I had a dull pain on the right side of my belly button about 5 minutes after, but it went away after a few minutes. I came straight home and laid down for a couple of hours. I was very shaken about it. I go to the doctor on thursday for my check-up, but I was wondering if anyone's gotten into a car wreck during their pregnancy. I'm afraid that the stress may have hurt my baby, but I may be overreacting because I feel fine.
Thanks!

If you are really worried call your doctor. I fell a few weeks ago and I didnt' call my doc because I was seeing her that following friday. She got really mad at me because the worst that could happen would have been during the first 24 hours.

If you are that worried about it call your doc....Because you probibly can't feel your skoot move to moniter his/her movements so you may not really know what is goin on with him/her

I just called my doctor. The nurse asked if I was cramping or bleeding. I told her no and she said I was fine.
Thanks. I probably wouldn't have called if you wouldn't have told me that and I would have worried until thursday afternoon.
Thanks again!

Yeah, when in doubt always call wether or not you think something is wrong. That way your not always stressed about what your feeling or the unknown. I always do. It eases my mind and the stress is worse on your body than making a phone call.

I am glad everything is ok. Just make sure you don't start leaking fluids or bleeding or cramping. That doesn't always start right away. So take it easy and pay attention to your body and if it gets worse call again. They won't kill you for calling.

Let us know.
