I Can't Fully Understand This Report
Posted: 05-02-06 07:01am

Hi .. This is my first time in this wonderful site . I am not so good in english
and I have this medical report ( with my simple english I think there is nothing wrong with the patient ) I want to be certain .. Please help me
specimen : f.N.A from left breast mass
microscopic : the cytological examination of the slides from a f.N.A of left breast lump , reveal many clusters and singly placed glandular epithelial
cells within the normal morphological limits . Red blood cells are also seen . No atypical cells seen .
Diagnosis : f.N.A.C, negative for malignant cells, consistent with a fibroadenoma, left breast .
Please tell me in easy english what does it say ?

Hello fjasim19,

the report is saying that you have a benign breast lump that many women have.
The thing about cells within normal morphological limits means that there is nothing abnormal about individual cells.

It is not cancer so you have nothing to worry about! It's very common in women over 30 and even younger women get them (i'm 21 and I found one last year). The best thing to do is just monitor it closely to make sure there are no strange changes. Hope this helps!
