do not, I repeat do not waste your time with kleen free or any of the alternative remedies on the web. They are all crap and a rip off. I know because I tried them all.

Use the 5% permethrin lotion and pay extreme attention to cleaning the house environment and your car. Sprinkle salt, baking soda or borax on carpets and vaccuum every day and throw the bag away. If you don't have a vaccum with a bag buy one, the filters are a haven for mites. Get some black flag yard fogger with .2% permethrin and .2% tetramethrin and spray your carpets and house. Buy a vinyl mattress cover at walmart for $10 and wash it down daily with a 10% bleach solution and spray with the black flag. Discard all garbage bags daily. Try to limit them to one location (don't use the ones in bathrooms, etc.) put salt down in the shower after bathing.

If your daughter has been infested for a while, have her take a shower before applying the permethrin and make sure to comb it through her wet/damp hair. Scabies will go to your scalp and face after being infested for a while.

Scabies mites can live off a human for up to a week, especially in carpets it seems, so be extra vigilant about the vaccuming. If possible, move slleeping arrangements to linoleum or hard wood floor instead or carpeting, as it is easier to clean, and spraying with the pesticide is much more effective.

Wear clothes once and bag them. Keep all dirty and clean clothes separate and bagged. Wash in hot water and dry on high for 40 minutes. Discontinue use of heavy or fluffy thick comforters during treatment. Just bag them for 2-3 weeks and stick to sheets only during treatment. As with clothes, use sheets once before washing in hot water and drying on high for 40 minutes. Spray the mattress covered in the viny covering with the black flag.

Shoes are a major problem as far as reinfestation. Bag all shoes and spray some black flag in the bag before tieing it off. If possible buy new shoes to use while old shoes are bagged for 2 weeks. Buy several pairs and alternate, spraying and bagging in between use.

If car is infested, cover seats with plastic. Spray with the black flag before doing so and once a day thereafter for 5 days. If possible, temporarily limit time in car altogether.

Mites hate dry heat. Run the heat while you're in the car. Use a hairdryer for 10-15 minutes in shoes and surface areas you may suspect have mites.

Good luck. It took me 5 tries with the permethrin lotion until I figured out how important the home environment was. I kept getting reinfested. Stay off upholstered furniture. Spray the heck out of furniture with the black flag.
