Change In Birthmark
Posted: 05-06-06 23:29pm

I was born with a birthmark (mole) in the pubic region of my pelvis slightly above my genitals. In pre-puberty, it was flat. After puberty, I pretty much forgot I had it since it became covered by pubic hair. One night my wife noticed it with her hand, unaware of it until that night. I noticed that it had became enlarged, cluster like, and elevated. I had a demotologist look at and he stated that it was probably irritated by chafing and being bumped against.
Has anyone else had a mole to change like th? Also, I wouldn't think it would be classified as a genital wart (std), would it? Since it is actually a birthmark.
I thinking of having it removed either by a topical treatment or even surgically. Any recommendations on a treatment?

I had a similar experience with a mole and when I saw my doctor I asked him why one of my moles grew like that. He told me that each mole has its own growth pattern. He said that at first, some moles are flat like a freckle. Over time though, they usually enlarge. As the years pass, moles usually change slowly, becoming more raised and lighter in color. So probably, your mole just grew at its normal rate and you just didnt notice because you didnt see it for a while. I would go see your dermatologist again though just to make sure.
