Hi,
i am in my mid 30's and have just started
taking ritalin. Now I have these very
vivid dreams about people that I have not
seen in years and I don't tend to sleep as
well as I used to.
Anyone else out there on ritalin that can
help me through this?
Thank you

Some medicines tend to do that to people.
For example I am on some type of pain
medication right now and it seems to make
me have some bad dreams. Other
medications I have been on before have
made me have dreams too. I mean out of
the way from nowhere dreams, sometimes if
you read the directions with the
prescriptions will even tell you sometimes
that can be a side effect. Strange but
true :?:

You're having vivid dreams because ritalin
is a stimulant and your brain is
overstimulated while sleeping thats also
probably why your not sleeping as well
because your body has not had time to
build up a tolerance. I think after time
your body will adjust to the medication
and you will retain normal sleep patterns
and I wouldn't worry about the vivid
dreams. But if they continue or they are
disturbing then consult your docter.

Ritalin Posted: 05-23-06 09:13am
It has been just about a month now since I
started the ritalin, and the dreams are
not as vivid. Plus my sleeping is getting
better.
My ability to focus more at work is great
too. Also, at home on the weekends I dont
start a thousand things at once I actually
start one and finish all the way
through.
I will admit I did do something really
stupid this weekend, I did snort one of
the pills. My husband and I were curious
as to why so many people use it when not
prescribed well I tell youwhat I saw the
sun rise for the first time in probably 10
years theni felt like crap the whole next
day. We agreed we wouldn';t do that
again. It reminded us too much when we
were younger and did "nose candy" yuck!!
Thank you for all the support:) keep it
coming

Hello. I am a student from Troy High
School. I am assigned a project and have
decided to write about Ritalin.
It'd be great if somebody who has taken
Ritalin or IS taking Ritalin could take
the time to answer these questions.
You may remain anonymous.
And by the way, don't feel obligated to
answer all the questions. You can skip
over a question if you do not want to
answer it.
How old were you when you first took
Ritalin?
Where did you first hear about Ritalin?
from a friend? doctor? etc.
Where did you get this drug from? Did you
buy it? If so, how much did you spend on
it?
How did it feel, taking Ritalin for the
first time?
Did it improve your life?
Did you regret it?
Did life seem less pressured?
Do you still feel the same emotions when
you take Ritalin now, compared to taking
Ritalin 6 months ago?
Why did you take Ritalin in the first
place? For an easier life? easier studies?
peer pressure at a party? etc.
Do you think RItalin should be allowed to
everyone, including students? Would it
make the world smarter and increase
human's potential of knowledge? Many
people buy Ritalin off the black market
anyways. So would it really make a
difference if the government allowed
Ritalin to become an over-the-counter
drug?
In your opinion, how would legalizing the
drug affect society or the world?
How did Ritalin affect your life?
Would your life be different at all if you
never took Ritalin? If so, how would it be
different?
Is there anything else you would like to
add? Any comments or ideas would be
helpful.
Thank you again! I greatly appreciate your
help and your time!
SIncerely,
Jessica

Opposite In Adults Posted: 10-27-07 13:04pm
This drug tends to work just the opposite
in adults then it does in children. In
children it has a calming affect for
hyperactivity yet on adults it is common
that it does wire them and they do loose
sleep. You may have to take to your doctor
about this.
