Has anybody had a caesarean section? How much does it hurt? Can you feel them cutting? And what does a epidural feel like?

I had an emergency c-section with .Brian. The procedure was painful, I could feel them cutting me! The recovery was great though!

We planned a c-section with .Jordan. The procedure was amazing. This time the recovery was terrible. I was infected for almost 7 weeks. I was in severe pain :(

I can't remember if i've mentioned this on here before or not, but a girl I know had to have an emergency c-section with her second child because she had been having pains when she bent over. She went to the doctor, and they said brandon (her son) had a large head and didn't have enough room and that she was crushing him. Weird!

I'm glad you both made it, sandra... My ehealth experience wouldn't be the same without you. ;)

I had an emerg c-sec but was so incredibly numb and high as my epidural thingy broke and they kept pumping me full of something, that I felt a lil tugging but not much. I have a high tolerance for pain and had demerol the first night and after that nothing. I never even filled my prescription. And I was up and walking 12 hours later (it would have been sooner if they'd let me) yes, my stomach stayed numb around the scar area for a few months but meh, it was ok.
The only crappy thing is no excersise and stuff for at least 6 weeks after so it's harder to get back in shape.

I had an emergancy c-section becuase of the seizures. I was not really cohearent(sp) so I really dont' remember much about it. However after I had it done, they couldn't get me walking around because I was out of it. So 2 days later I woke to the 'breathing guy' trying to check my breathing. I didnt' like that too much and I really still didn't know that I had my baby until the little punk told me. It was crazy. I healed really quickly. About 4 weeks I was released to return to work.

Welcome! I wouldn't be able to comment on the caesarean thing - but my mum had a c-section with my younger brothers and will have with this next baby (she's pregnant! I only just found out... Note to self, post about it!)

sorry yeah. She had a really easy op and it healed really quickly.

I had 2 sections and found the recovery with the first very painful but with the second I was up and about after like 12 hours slowly of course and not to far from pain killers but the second was a lot less painfull.
