Extremely Bad Breath & No Friends & No Life Posted: 05-10-06 17:59pm
I am a 20 year old female and have been
suffering from bad breath from the age of
12. I brush twice a day, floss once a
day and use mouth wash once or twice a
day. My breath smells no matter what! I
hate it and avoid talking to people
because of it. Due to this I have no
friends and am feeling extremely lonely.
I spend all my time at home, on the
computer and in front of the tv.
Sometimes I feel like killing myself.
Upon seeing a dentist, he said I had no
problem with my teeth and gums. My
general practicioner told me to take a
"breath test" and after viewing the
results said that I had no problems.
Another gp said that nothing can be done
about it and that I have to live with it.
Please please please help. I don't know
what. I am at a stage in life w here
girls go out with friends, have boyfriends
etc etc etc and I cannot do any of these
things.
Is there anyone out t here that is facing
the same problem? I also have very low
self esteem due to other physical factors
and that just depresses me even more. I
feel so helpless and useless all the time.

I don't know what to say other than my
girlfriend has a similar problem. Maybe
someone here has tried some of the more
hardcore otc breath solutions? There's
one set of bottles they advertise on tv
lately that are supposed to be a
heavy-duty solution for bad breath, maybe
someone here has experience?
It speaks very poorly of this forum that
you went unanswered in your time of need
:/ eventually you will find someone who
isn't so shallow as to miss out on being
with you because of something like breath.

Hi unwanted I know what you are going
through. I'm a 22 year old female that
has had the same problem since I was
around 10 years old. I have tried a lot
of different things. Nothing has worked
for me. I to have been depressed and
suicidal because of this problem. I'm
sorry I couldn't be of more help but heres
a site where there are others like us.
God bless.
I live in pain 24/7, I have physical
defects, including a birthmark, I am
losing my teeth from a medical situation
and cannot afford dentures and have some
bad breath, have you tried the breath
mints or the listerine tabs that melt in
your mouth(they kind of make my tongue
burn but that is part of my medical
situation), certs, have you sought second
opinions from other dr's, their might be
an immune disease after all look at all of
the syndromes, have you tried to research
it on the internet. Sometimes my leg
will drag or myarms get real weak and I do
fall a lot and I have had a couple of
strokes and with my other medical
problems, it does not help, my dr keeps
talking to me about completer disability
and to stop driving which I barely drive
anyway.
I understand what you mean by your low
self asteem but you are what you are and
you are young, I am mush older then you
and if people d not like me haow I am, no
need to worry, their are others that will
accept you as you are, they are the ones
that are low!
Please do not think about ending it, their
are people that love you and care about
you think about how they would feel,
sometimes we just need a little help and
their is nothing wrong with that!
Maybe someone else can help you out a
little bit more than I have here.
Remember to, noone is perfect!
Big hugs!

Unwanted: don't give up on this one
because it can be caused by alot of
things. It could be digestion, it could
be sinuses, it could be infection
somewhere in your body, I even heard where
decreased motility in your esophagus can
cause some really bad breath problems (who
would think of that?). So don't give
up.

Acid Reducer Posted: 08-11-06 03:38am
Recently I found something that has helped
my 20 yr old neice rid herself of the
constant bad breath she used to have and
you seem to be experiencing. I read in a
medical journal that another cause of bad
breath is tonsilloliths which are caused
by acidity in your mouth cavity. So I
bought her an acid reducer, pepcid
complete which can be bought right off the
counter at drug stores without a
prescription . She chews one berry
flavored tablet every morning after
breakfast followed with a cup of water,
then she brushes her teeth and tongue as
usual. She has pleasant breath all day.
Please try this, it's changed her life
and she's so happy.

I know exactly how u feel. It's funny
how scientists try to find cures for other
diseases, but no one tries to step up and
help over 60 million americans who are
suffereing from halitosis.
I always think about how much fun i'm
going to have while in college. But then
I think about meeting new people, and then
they turn away from me the moment I ope my
mouth. I do everything I need to. I've
been suffering from this bad breath so
elementary school. Kids used to tease me
"milk" breath or the stink boy. It
really hurted. Now in high school,
people don't tease you directly. They
just talk behind your back, or rub their
noses when the come by you and happen to
take a whiff. It really hurts.
People say you should live life to the
fullest. How can you do that when your
bad breath is stopping you from doing the
things you want to do. I want to be a
businessman, but I know that you need to
work in a team setting and be able to
communicate. I could do it, but I
probably would scare everyone off when I
open my mouth to speak.
I really don't know what to do; sometimes,
I think about killing myself too, but I
just can't. We all must be determined
and think differently. We will overcome
this obstacle. We must go out, and find
answers on our own. If these scientists
won't do it, we all will. We can't give
in to halitosis. We'll give it the kung
fu punch and knock it out. We all must
hang in there.
Thanks for your time,
sincerely,
shyboy16

Shyboy 16, have you tried some of these
remedies suggested on this board?
Don't give up. Keep looking. Somebody
somewhere will come up with something that
will help you.

Also, shyboy, how is your general health?
It may have something to do with your
problem.

Dude, we're exactly the same. I spend the
whole day playing videogames and watching
tv. It kinda suck when you want to grow
hang out wth people but realize youre
different and you would have a hard time
fitting in. I sometime wonder of commiting
suicide but I absolutely don't want you to
think of the same thing. Please don't even
think about it, definitely not cool.
Instead keep finding a cure i'm sure youll
stumble on something that could help you.
Plus, prayer helps a lot. If you have read
the bible, Jesus have healed even the
nastiest of sickness. Hope we find a cure
someday God BLess
