Q: Last Few Days And Getting Seriously Depressed...

Intellectually I know that I am in the last few days of my pregnancy (i am due the 24th of may) but right now I feel like I have been and am going to be pregnant forever. Every night that I crawl into bed still pregnant makes me just a little bit more depressed. I don't want to get out of bed in the morning. I don't want to work. I'm tired, achy, heavy and mean. I have had false labor quite a few times in the past week or two and each time that it stops I just start crying uncontrollably. I know it's not possible but i'm beginning to believe that i'm going to be some kind of medical freak show and be pregnant forever. This so sucks!!! All day long I just want to sleep and cry and i'm starting to get scared because if i'm depressed now before the baby is even here how much worse will I be once he's born? I wish there was some way I could get this baby to come tonight!! I am so sick of being pregnant. I hate the way I look and the way I feel. I don't even act like my old self anymore... Sorry for the whiny crap but I seriously don't think that I can take another day of being pregnant. I'm ready to call my doctor and beg her to induce labor for mental health reasons!!

i sincerely hope that you're right because I really can't take another day of this. My sil already had her baby and she's due after me. I can't stop crying i'm so sick of being pregnant. I'm so depressed once I get home I don't bother to do anything but sit on the couch and make my husband bring me glass after glass of water and juice. I just want this to be over. If it takes another week i'm scared that i'll do something stupid and won't be able to stop myself. Like quit my job because I can't go in another morning like this. Or camp out in the doctors office chained to her desk until she agrees to induce my labor. Life sucks. But if you say it's normal to feel this way i'll try to believe you. ~* trying to smile but crying instead *~. I've got a big audit coming up at my job and I can't even motivate enough to do the work for it, even though my job actually depends on it because i'm at the point when I don't care.

Awww honey..I'm sooo sorry that you're feeling this way!! I'm feeling depressed myself, but it's not because i'm preggy! Lol...

Hang in there girl!! Like blaze said, you'll be wishing he was back in when he won't stop screaming!!!!

Are you gonna circumcise him?? When, or if, I have a little boy, I don't think I will.

I'm still not sure (about circumcision). I really don't want to but everyone in my family keeps telling me that it's wrong not to for religious reasons.

i don't beleive in it either. I think it's unnecessary pain. They do just fine with foreskin. But hey...Do what you feel is right. I'm almost sure that there's a bunch of websites that will tell you the pro's and cons!!!

I really don't want to so I think that I won't. It just seems a little cruel. And in the .New .Testament paul says that it doesn't matter whether or not you are circumcised in the flesh it's more important to be circumcised in the spirit. Besides my nephew (who's 1 1/2 now) had one and they botched it. It's only halfway done. *shudder* i'd be super po'd if they botched my little m&m's.

Edited for sp

I didn't get trey done for a couple of resons.
1. They botched my friend's son's and it was nasty!!!!
2. I watched the video of what they do and it was nasty!!!!
3. Trey's dad is not done and I figured once he starts potty training it would be easier if him and daddy looked the same.

Our reasons #1 and #3 are about the same....I never saw a video but I read about what they do and it sounds cruel. I don't think I could do that to my son.

The reasons I had my son circumcised:

1. The difference factor. It would be less so now, since this is more of an option than when I had him. But I feared him being 'different' and how i'd explain it.

2. My very good friend's son had his foreskin shrink and he refused to use the bathroom to potty because pulling back the foreskin hurt. He had to soak in a warm tub before using the bathroom. It was awful.

3. A good male friend of mine was uncirced until he was a teenager. Due to an infection he had to have it done and he said it was terribly painful - especially having sex afterwards. He did, in fact rip it open and it was an excrutiating 'fix'.

4. My mom is a nurse in the emergency room and has seen many men come in from nursing homes who have to have it done due to hygeine issues.

I'm not saying it is the right or wrong choice. I may make a different decision if/when I have another boy. But that was why I made the decision I made.

Insureance doesn't pay for it anymore so it's out of pocket pay and that is why a lot of people aren't having it done. It's not medicly nessisary anymore.

Ingi, I to am a .R.N. And have worked all over the hospital, I agree with your .Mom, when you are born, you do not remember it being done like you would remember it when you are older and having it done, even though it is the families choice, their can come a time where a man cannot take care of himself as well as he used to and he can end up with a lot of infections from not being cleaned properly and a lot of assistants are not trained properly or do not have a lot of time to do it properly. When I found out I was having a son a long time ago, I said to do it, even if I did have to pay for it, when I worked in labor and del., I recommended it also even though I explained to the couple that it was there choice. I guess I have faith in my drs as it shoud not be that big of a deal to botch something up like that and I would rather have it done earlier than later but it is different for everyone!
The best to you whatever you decide!

I am sooo sorry you are going through depression and all and not getting much time off @ work, that is icky! Maybe you can have the baby @ work, that will be one day less lost, I just do not understand why your dr will not write you a note saying that you need to be off a couple more weeks due to the delivery, too bad tour boss does not have a baby, maybe he would understand, having a baby is not easy but going thriugh all if the work baloney, I hope you do not have to go back there and can stay at home with your baby longer. I do wish you the best, I do understaand what it is like to work up to your due date, it is depressing as you can't sit as it hurts to sit to long and it hurts to walk as your whole body including feet and hands feel swollen and all you want to do is come home and go to bed ir get in your recliner and rest but your mind and body will not let you but you have a right to vent all you want, we are here for you!

my boss is a woman, she has two kids. The decision isn't up to her though, our hr dept regulates leave time. She has no authority to grant leave. My doctor will write me out at whatever I ask her to, it's just that after four weeks if I am unable to return to my job, I will be fired because I do not qualify for any more time than the four weeks.

I'm hoping that the baby will come tomorrow so I can stop working!!! everyone send me labor dust!! I darn sure don't want to go into the office on monday!

i agree totally with all 3!!! My .Fiance isn't circumcised and he has had no problem with infection.... I love it not being circumcised, it's so much more natural!!

I don't know what's up with me and naturality...Just something I firmly believe in!!!

Well he didn't come this weekend and unfortunately i'm at work again today. I probably won't be answering too many posts. I don't really even want to be here. I am in the discomfort of my life. I thought I was uncomfortable before but this is that pain times three. My back feels like it's broken, so do my legs and I can't catch my breath to save my life. If the pain goes away, i'll check back later. Thanks to everyone that sent me labor dust. Too bad it didn't work.
