Yea, I had to have on before birth and after she was born.

My blood type is .A- and my .Fiance's was positive. She was born .A so I had to have another shot.

The shot is called .Rhogam and you normally get it in the hip or butt. It's not serious if you have the shot. Not getting the shot could cause your red blood cells to attack your baby's. And a transfusion could be necessary if you don't receive one.

Good .Luck,
sarah

I had to have that shot as well. One before my baby was born, and one after. I forget how many weeks I was when I got the first one, and that one was in my arm. It's no more painful than any other shot. But when I know I have to get one, I sit and think about how much it's gonna hurt...When the day comes to get it, it's really not that bad. Then the one I had after she was born the nurse just jabbed me in the hip. No warning, no nothing. That pissed me off. And yes that one hurt like hell.

Hey ashlee, my friend had a baby not long ago and she had to get that shot.. . I was in the hospital with her when she got it, and the nurse put it in her butt (awkward for me eh?). She said "ooooh owww! That hurts!" when it went in but she didn't scream or cry or anything like that. I think it all depends on how well you handle shots and pain. Good luck hun!
