Ear Infections Twice Within a Month Posted: 05-20-06 16:35pm
First time I had an ear infection I had it
along with a cold. Doctor prescribed
some zithromax 250mg tablets along with
neomycin ear drops. Within taking the
medication, the ear pain and stuffiness
went away within 4 days.
Fast forward to this past week. My left
ear felt stuffy and wouldnt pop, so I
thought why not use the leftover neomycin
for that ear. I used it and it went away
in about a day. Soon thereafter, my
right ear felt stuffy and it wouldn't pop
as well. So I tried the neomycin again.
No help. I cannot hear in my right ear
and I get a sharp pain sometimes. It's
difficult to concentrate when my ear is
stuffy and I cannot hear.
I went to an ent doctor this morning and
he said that I may have gotten water in my
ears. He suctioned fluid out and blew
air through my ears on both sides and told
me that I did have an infection.
He later prescribed to me tobramax eye
drops to put in my ear so it will reduce
the swelling and the bacteria. I have an
appointment to follow-up in one week.
I sure hope that this does work, because
it's irritating!
Anyone had similar experiences or a
recurrence like I had? Or even
experience using tobramax?
