I have not been on birth control for over a year. My doctor put me on loestrin fe 24 about 2 weeks ago. I'm 1/2 way into the 1st pack and I started bleeing. I had my period on may 2nd and now i'm bleeing again. I was sexually active with my boyfriend last night so i'm thinking that "provocked" it but he is worried that something is wrong. Is this normal? Will this go away or should I inquire about a different type of pill? I shouldn't have another period for at least 2 more weeks.

I was on my first period with the pill on the 18th march and it lasted 2 weeks. Then I was off for 4 days and then bleeding started again. Only it was very light.... Weird not like a normal period. So im guessing its breakthrough. It is normal. And like you when I have sex, it seems to provoke it somewhat...... Xxx

Loestrin is a very low dose pill, and since you just started up again it is normal to have breakthrough bleeding for the first 2-3 months.
