I'm a Basketcase

I don't know what's wrong with me. I was fine when I woke up but for the last hour i've been a mess. I decided I couldn't wait for my appointment next wednesday so I called to see if I could just go in to hear the heartbeat and they ended up moving my appointment up to today. I cried while I was on the phone with the nurse. Then I thought i'd pulled myself together enough to call work to tell them i'd be a little late and I ended up bursting into tears the minute my boss answered. I feel like such an fool but I can't help it. I'm 17 weeks today and I just don't really feel pregnant at all. I know it's too early to really feel movement, this being my first and all. Did anyone else feel completely normal at 17 weeks? I don't look pregnant, I just look fat. I've been feeling pretty good lately too. I'm just freaking out, hopefully over nothing. My appointment is in an hour. Thank god I didn't have to wait another week. Maybe the fact that i'm acting so emotional is a good thing, right?

Bridget, breath! You are not a basket case, you are a mother and that is what is causing this... It's normal. Called hormones I do believe.

Everyone develops at different rates and i'm sure everything wil be just fine. With you and the baby - it shows you are going to be a wonderfully caring and compassionate mom, you just need to calm down and wait to hear the heartbeat later on - it'll all be fine.

Hugs girl, good luck - let us know. =)

Bridget, I felt just like that. Because I couldn't feel mine move until 20+weeks, and I was *barely* even showing at that point and I didn't have morning sickness. So I think everything is going to be just fine. But hearing the heartbeat makes you feel so much better. Hang in there chica!

Hey I know just how you feel. You probably dont even know who I am but I havent been on in a while. My computer had been messed up and i've tried to get on at work but for some dumb reason my boss has almost every page blocked for security purposes. Ne ways im 18 wks and 4 days pregnant today. And I dont feel like it at all. I feel like crying for anything also and I dont see myself preggo but fat too. No one believes me that im expecting and this is my second child so I thought I would show sooner. My baby though did start moving already so he/she's the one that reminds me im pregnant. Its ok calm down and if you didnt have any morning sickness consider your self lucky cause even though I didnt have it either with either of my both pregnancies I think it would be horrible. Lets us know how u feeling later. Take care

Amen...I think every pregnant women goes through this paranoia phase. Every month I would get terrified a couple days before going to the .Dr because I swore the baby's heartbeat wouldn't be able to be found!! But sure enough, every month she was fine!! The before I knew it I felt her move!!! Then, after about 4 months of having the hulk inside of me, I wanted her to stop moving....Just for a couple of minutes!!

I remember the day before I went into labor I got freaked out because she wasn't moving. I mean at all. Little did I know she was being prepped for delivery!!!

I wish I was still pregnant....Wait...What the hell am I saying!! I was incredibly .H.U.G.E!! Good .God i'm glad she's here!! I can't wait to see yalls babies!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone!

Well I was freaking out for nothing. He found the heartbeat right away (155 bpm) and we listened to it for what seemed like 5 minutes straight. It was such a relief and now I feel semi-calm. I have my ultrasound next week so I feel like I can act like a normal person until then and hopefully i'll start feeling movement soon. I really wish i'd never had a miscarriage, for the obvious reason but also because I just can't relax and enjoy being pregnant. But thank you all and I feel so much better.
