Deviated Septum Posted: 01-10-04 20:02pm
About 8 or 9 months ago I was referred to
an ear, nose and throat doctor because I
was having problems with my tonsils. The
doctor put a small camera up my nose to
get a look at the back of my tonsils. He
mentioned that I had a deviated septum and
that it was probably something I was born
with. I have always noticed that it is
significantly easier to breathe out of one
side of my nose than the other. Before
the doctor had mentioned it, I had never
thought twice about it. Recently, I have
started yoga and have found it very
difficult to continuously breathe out of
my nose, especially when I am breathing
hard after exertion. I am wondering how
common this is and if someone has had this
and had it corrected. I have begun to
think about having it corrected myself and
was curious if someone else has gone
through it.

Hi
my husband had this same problem all his
life and could not breathe most of the
time. Our ent did surgery a year ago and
my husband is doing great. Never has had
a problem with breathing since the
surgery. It was well worth it for him to
have the surgery.

I had a friend have this surgery. It was
the best thing in the world for him. It
felt so much better and he said singing
was a much better experience.
