What are the symptoms typical of an esophogeal spasm? Do I Posted: 05-24-06 06:49am
I was recently diagnosed with esophogeal
spasm by my general physician. He put me
on nexium. My symptoms were burning in the
middle of my chest, before and after i eat
and a feeling of pressure in my chest.
also i feel every breath and my stomach
has a sensation when i press on it and i
feel the sensation up my esophogus. Is
this typical of esophogeal spasm? The
nexium has stopped the burning but i still
feel the pressure. it relieves itself when
i eat or pass gas, i'm just worried that
it could be cancer of some sort. I also
has full blood work done about 2 months
ago, along with an MRI and CAT scan of the
brain. I was diagnosed with TMJ and have
been under treatment for that with muscle
relaxer, flexeril and relaxation. I would
appreciate any thoughts or concerns.
Thanks!

You can perform a gastroscopy to affirm or
exclude the possibility of cancer.
