Help My Mom Won't Let Me Use Birth Control Posted: 05-24-06 16:21pm
Hello guys I need you help...I need to
know how you hide your birth control...I'm
18 years old and I recently used the pill
it was great but after 3 months my mom
found out about it...And we have a long
talk and continuous punishment that I
still suffer...She doesn't want me to have
sex she wants me to practice
abstinence...But I do believe I have
rights so I came again to planned
parenthood today for nuvaring since it is
more descrete than the pill...But I need
to hide it from my mom..Can you please
give me an idea or at least an
advice...I'm planning to go to medical
school and need my parents help for
financial support so I can't go out of the
house even if i'm 18 alreaady...Since even
if I work I can't pay for my tuition
fees...

Yes you can go to your doctor its
confidential whatever you tell them. You
can get put on the dempo shot which last
for three months but I have heard its not
a very good choice.It can cause lots of
bleeding, or you could get the doctor to
give you some birthcontrol pills, they
can't tell your parents if you tell them
its confidential. You could also go to
your local clinic set up an appointment
and get put on it for free and explain to
them you want it to be confidential and
they could mail it to you, but since you
don't won't your mom to know every time
you need more pills just set up an
appointment and go back to get another
pack. :)

Nuva ring is very easy to hide!
Great choice, and congrats on medical
school!!! You sound so intelligent from
my talking with you!!
If you want, and girls at my local pp do
this too..You can insert the ring at pp
office and throw the box it comes in away
in a public restroom.
When you are done with the ring just throw
it away maybe in a public restrrom as
well..I know it sounds kinda gross, but
that is the most discreet way to go.
And yes you do have rights.

Hey.
You should do what you want! Your 18 and
you and your own person! Have you got a
boyfriend or got bad periods? Talk to
your mum about this because now your 18
you should do what you want. If you want
to go on the pill then go to your doctors
and say to him/her that you want to go on
the pill, your mum cannot stop you!
Just talk to you mum ok hun? Let me know

Thats the problem her mom wants her to

sounds like real strict parents and she
needs there help in order to finish going
to school so she has to go by her moms
rules. She got punished when her mom
found out she was taking the pills and is
still getting punished for it. Her mom
doesn't want her having sex.
But there are birth control pills out
there and if you go to the doctor or a get
an appointment at a local clinic and get
on birth control either way its
confidential and when its time to get
another pack of pills just schedule an
appointment and get a new pack.
I hope you can get out of the house to do
that even. :(
i know strict parents are rough, I lived
with my grandfather from the time I was 9
up until the time I was 16 and a half.
Then I left to live with my boyfriend and
his parents.
Sounds like her parents are old fashioned.

That really sucks. I don't understand
parents sometimes. Would she rather have
her daughter our having sex without
protecting herself, or would she rather
her daughter be responsible &protect
herself if she chooses to have sex?
You're 18, for heaven's sake. I'm sorry
your mother is like that. I'm almost 20,
.I'm about to be engaged, &.I'm 4wks
pregnant- &she's still in denial about
me having sex- &.I only stay at her
house once a week to be with my little
sisters! Lol. She never let me get on
birth control when .I was younger, either.
It was so frustrating.
How did she find out about it last time?

I just hope she can get to a doctor to get
on the birth contro or a clinic without
her mom finding out and getting in
trouble. Yeah your right I would rather
know she was trying to take precautions
than punish her for it. But it sounds
like they are old fashioned or just very
religious whatever the case sounds like
she has it rough.
Good luck hun and I hope you find away
without your mom finding out! Would hate
for you to get in anymore trouble over it.

situation...My mom is very religious and
she still thinks i'm a virgin I made an
excuse when she caught me with the
pills....I told her i'm just using it to
regulate my period and to avoid
cramps...But she still punished me..I will
work this out guys I hope I find a
way..Nuvaring is good idea I can just ask
my bf to pick it up for me and give it to
me at school then my mom wouldn't know and
just like what carifairy said i'll just
throw it in a public restroom coz my mom
checks on the trash too

She really needs to understand that you're
18 &are perfectly capable of making
your own decisions! Especially since

This made me so mad... Hun your mum
should be happy that you are actually
taking precautions about sex not punishing
you for it!.... At the end of the day...
You are 18 and its your choice. I hope
