I Heard the Heartbeat Today But... Posted: 05-26-06 19:45pm
Omg I actually got to listen to my baby's
heartbeat today I was really happy but now
im really worried and sad too :( my
baby's hb was only 90 and my doc. Said
that normally should be in 120-160s so he
thinks I might m/c. Omg im so scared and
sad now, I dont want to lose my baby. I
love my baby so much already I dont know
what to do :( *cry* my doc. Will do an
u/s next week again and if the hb doesnt
go up he says most likely I will m/c.
:( please keep me and my baby in ur
prayers and pray my baby will be ok.
Thanks everyone.

Just stay strong hun! The more you get
worried the more the baby would get
affected. Some babies do have lower hb in
the beginning. Just try to relax as much
as you can till the next u/s just divert
your attention to something else like
watch a film with your friends etc. Also
don't forget to get enough rest dont
overdo anything. Whatever happens you
will always be in my prayers. If you need
someone to vent on just email me k

Just think positively! Was the doctor
using a doppler? 9 weeks is awfully early
to pick up the heartbeat. Maybe he was
getting yours. Hang in there and try not
to drive yourself crazy until your next
u/s. When is it? Just try to relax and
think happy thoughts. Pm me if you want
to talk. I'm hoping everything works out
for you!

I could not have said it any better then
how kirtzensmummy said it! You are in
my thoughts and prayers also!
That is true, the dr can be wrong, I
thought you were further along than what
you are.
Thoughts to the both of you!

Everytime I have gone to the doctor since
i'm 10 weeks my doctor finds it with no
problem, well when I was in the hospital
for dehydration it was a different doctor.
She couldn't find the heartbeat at first
and then thought she found it. She was
certain, but it was indeed my heartbeat --
just like iheart said. I knew it was
mine b/c I felt mine pounding in my head.
It could have very well been yours.
Have your doctor check your pulse next
time and compare. That's what I had to
convince the doctor to do and then she
apologized and found the real heartbeat.
9 weeks is sometimes too early to hear it.

9 weeks is unusually early to pick up a
consistent heartbeat. I'm amazed he'd
even mention a miscarriage to you! A slow
fetal heartbeat 90 does not necessarily
indicate a pending miscarriage -
especially if you've had no other risk
factors for miscarriage.
At 9 weeks your fetus is not even an inch
long, weighs approximately 0.07 ounce. So
you can see where it would be difficult to
get a good reading with a doppler. Some
doctors don't even listen for the
heartbeat until 12 weeks, so there is no
let down and/or confusion about the health
of the fetus.
Good luck at your ultrasound next week.

My .Dr was able to pick up my angels
heatbeat at 10 weeks. Now a days a heart
rate can be detected at 6 weeks.
I'm keeping you and your angel in my
prayers. I know you've been down a hard
road to coceive this little one!!! Just
remember, .God never does anything in
spite of you!!! Everything is for a
reason!!!
