Q: Have You Guys Ever Experienced This?

Ok, this isn't pregnancy related, but you guys seem more knowledgable than the other forums, so here's my question.

For the past few months i've been up to and around two weeks late for my period, so i'm thinking my cycle changed (used to be 28-30 day, now looks like 40-42 day) and my periods have been getting shorter? But not any lighter... For example I started 2 days ago, and now am hardly bleeding at all ( my period usually lasts 4-5 days).

I still pass small clots, and towards then ends of my periods, I usually pass a large, much lighter colored, chunky (not jello-y) clot. Then no bleeding for most of the day, then it starts up again and my period is over the next day. So this still happens, but is now around 3-5 days.

I'm sorry this was a little graphic, but I was wondering if any of you have ever experienced something this weird.

Hello,
considering your periods use to be regular and have changed. You must go see your gp sooner rather than later. It may be nothing to worry about, but a change in your cycle could mean a number of things, please go see your doctor :)

Hi there, your cycle can change slowly but anything that is drastic like your change is not normal. A normal cycle is anything between 21-35 days anything above it is not good. I would go visit your Dr. And figure a way to put your cycle in a more normal range.

Hey guys thanx for responding. Yeah, I have heard that drastic changes in your period could mean something is wrong. I thought my period was almost over when I posted this. It was extremely light yesterday, but then all of a sudden this morning it was heavy again for about an hour or so, then it went back to very light but bright red, not light brown, like the day before. So I guess my cycle lasted as long as I have been used to... But still, i'm thinking I should go to the doctor... But my mom says it's normal, and she's a nurse.. I dunno.

I was wondering... Around the time I noticed a change in my cycle, I believed it was changed due to becoming sexually active, but now I am wondering if a change in my cycle could have been brought on by a severe uti that I got after becoming sexually active? And i'm not quite sure the uti was completely gotten rid of? Because I still have those days where it hurts to pee, and it has an odor (especially in the morning). I was thinking the uti could maybe affect my cycle? I should probably see a doctor either way though...

Thanx again guys.
