Pelvic Inflammatory Disease...please Help!
Posted: 05-28-06 23:58pm

I was recently treated for pid, and was tested for stds, tests came back negative, but I think I am starting pid symptoms again.

I am really scared because pids are apparently very dangerous and I am not sure what is happening.

What is happening is, post intercourse, a light brown disharge occurs, like a small amount of old blood is being loosened and released out of my system.

I don't know if this is just residual blood from my former condition, or if the infection has been causing new damage.

I tried to call urgent care, and their response was that my condition couldn't be discussed over the phone, even though there was no sensitive information involved?!?! I was so mad! They told me that if I were dealing with a respiratory condition, we could discuss it, but since we are dealing with a vagina, it's a problem.

I am so worried and can't get information, without having to pay loads of money. Please help!!!

Bleeding after sex is not cause for extreme worry. It can mean that your cervix was bumped up against while you were having sex, that is all. It isn't life or death. Nor is it a reason to spend hundreds of dollars getting tested.

No one can diagnose you over the phone or over the internet. You probably wouldn't want someone to either, they'd give you loads of crappy information that didn't pertain to your condition ;)

if you are still concerned, call your doctor's office during normal business hours and make an appointment.

Using a condom can help prevent the spread of stds.

Good luck!

Is a brownish discharge a sign of pid?
