Can This Be a Sign of Miscarrage?
Posted: 05-29-06 19:52pm

Hi im six weeks pregnant and I have been having a yellowish discharge with a very mild smell, I had, had a pap done about two weeks ago and everything was fine. I have been having back pain and tightness in my stomach nothing thats unbarable like cramps but I can definatly feel pressure. I have had 3 abortions which I am not proud of and plan to keep this child but I am so scared that I will miscarry, please tell me if any of these symptoms are normal.

Anything Can Be Normal !!

You'd be surprised at how far the term "normal" will stretch when it comes to pregnancy.

If the smell of the discharge is offensive, or just a bit nasty, it could be an infection- even could be due to a slight injury (scrape, lil' tear) during your pap smear.
If it just smells kinda.... Salty or umm...Raw meaty? (sorry), then it's just normal discharge, you'll find increased discharge throughout pregnancy- that is completely normal.
Strange sensations in the abdomen, and back pain also fairly common- your uterus would be starting to stretch by now.
Make sure you tell your doctor about your previous terminations-even if it's something you don't like admitting to, it's very important that whoever is looking after your pregnancy is aware of it.
There can sometimes be scarring and that can affect where the placentra attaches itself, how well it's attached and things like that.
