I think she meant lube, but I have no idea if it affects it or not.

Yes beca it does affect it. It will kill most of the sperm . You posted this same question on pregnancy-info. And I think for questions you really want answered your best bet is to stay on that forum. Your more likely to get answered preoperly there.

I had to use lube after my 2nd trimester. My .Dr recommended plain .K.Y....

I could've sworn I was gonna need it after having her...But I was just fine without it!!

Studies have shown that certain types of lube may slow sperm mobility, but that doesn't mean it will "kill" most of the sperm, emma. If you're trying to conceive and worried at all, just use... Spit or something.

If your trying to get pregnant and need lube I would say that plain k-y jelly is your best bet. Its non spermicidal.

Actually it will kill them off, slow them down and deform them. And spit as well was said to have a negative impact on sperm. If you want something desinged for ttc its called preseed.

My doctor told me that when you are in days 10-20 you are suppose to only use saliva or your natural fluids. Hh said any other day you can use whatever and swing from a trapeze! Ha ha just what he told me

There is only one lube I know of that actually helps sperm go in...The rest kill them before they even have a chance....But since your already preg. I am guessing it won't hurt you to use lubes.

I never heard that water based lubes were bad, but then again I wasn't actually ttc so it wasn't something that I researched....

Same here, tigres. And if lube supposedly "kills" all the sperm, wouldn't more people start using it as a barrier method? Hmm. Looks like someone is highly exaggerating.

Here is what fertility expert Dr. Amos claims.

Member: is using pre-seed ok?

Dr.Grunebaum: pre-seed is a new moisturizer that claims to be "sperm-friendly." I have heard of many couples that have successfully become pregnant while using pre-seed.

Member: can using saliva as a lubricant kill sperm?

Dr.Grunebaum: saliva is a great sperm-killer. It's not suggested to use saliva as a lubricant.

Who is Dr. Amos? And what does that have to do with water based lube?

Just forwarding what I read. It might actually help. He is a Dr. On webmd.Com....He does live chats with women ttc'ing. I would take his word any day over anyone from a forum. I never claimed everything killed sperm. I claimed that most lubes do and I recommended the one I have heard works. If your ttc'ing and having a hard time it is wise not to use saliva as a lube.
