Need Advice!! Please Help!
Posted: 01-11-04 21:13pm

Ok to give a little background on my situation...I am married and trying to conceive. As of the 28th of dec. I have had a so called period(earlier than my expected period)....But it is different. I normally have no pain during my period and my blood loss is always the same...This time I have had dark blood with a very foul smell to it. The frequency of the loss has not been enough to use tampons much but it has continued well beyond the normal span. Could there be a problem such as miscarriage or infection...I have had no fever...And there is no worries of std's. Should I be worried and go see a doc or what??! And do you think I should abstain for having sex until I know for sure?

I would call my doctor. Are you still bleeding? Any "clots" or lumps of bloody tissue? Abnormal cramping or back pain? When was your last period prior to this one? Have you had a positive pg test?

Those are some quesitons you will be asked. If you are still bleeding you need to see the doctor soon.

You might have miscarried. It is fairly common prior to 12 weeks of pregnancy. It is usually caused by the fetus not being "put together right" and no fault of the parents. Most of the time the mother doesn't even know she was preg. But, sometimes some tissue is left behind and can cause bleeding and even hemmorage. If that is the case you will need a d & c to get that tissue and ensure your safety.
Good luck
