Help Me Please!! Confused :(
Posted: 05-31-06 23:38pm

I have been having stomach pain for about a year now, and i'm a 20 yr old male. I drank pretty heavily (beer) for about 3 years. Ever since I started having the stomach pain I have stopped drinking. I constantly hurt everyday, and as soon as I get done eating I start belching alot and have excessive gas. It hurts right around my belly button mostly but it goes to my back and sometimes left and right sides. I have had a abdominal x-ray, barium ct scan of abdomen (without the dye), complete abdominal ultrasound, and amylase blood test. All was normal. I just had an upper gi done and waiting on results. About a month ago I was hurting severely bad and had a low grade fever and felt really really sick, I had excrusiating pain all around my belly button but it went away after about a day and half. Out of all the tests that I have had done can there be any possible way that I have chronic pancreatitis and they just haven't found it, considering my amylase blood levels were normal???????????? Thanks for any advice and god bless..Also when this started I weighed 180lbs and now I weigh 160lbs, I dont know if it has to do with not drinking or what. My stools are often pale looking, and seem to be greasy like looking. Is the belching and excessive gas a symptom of chronic pancreatitis?????
You think this could be gallbladder or pancrease related??

Nausea, vomiting, gas and flatulence, weightloss and fatty stools are all signs of pancreatitis. However, if you have had all those tests, especially serum amylase, and ct scans, it is doubtful for chronic pancreatitis to go undetected. Gallbladder diseases usually causes pain after eating in the right upper abdomen. That would have been detected by ultrasound. Maybe you have a stomach or bowel problem rather than your pancreas or gallbladder. Hope this helps.
