Ok im three days away from my period and the dollar store test was so faint I had to squint hard. I took this 20 mintures ago.. See the thing is this afternoon at 3 oclock I got into a huge accident and I think totalled my car. About a 15 mins later I was getting terrible pains down there.. Do you think if I was pregnant that the accident could cause me to loose the baby or do you jus think the muscles went into shock to protect the baby.. Anyone have an idea

It depends. Totalling your car doesn't tell us what injuries you personally sustained in your accident. From what it sounds like, you weren't taken to the hospital...So i'm assuming you were ok. I hope you are ok.

A major concern in car accidents is usually when you are much further along than possibly being less than 4 weeks pregnant. Considering the fetus would be very, very, very tiny at this point (if you are pregnant), then i'm pretty sure you are ok. The cramps you are feeling could be your period or normal pregnancy feelings.

You should call your doctor and go in to be checked just to be safe!

Good luck.

Ususally if you total your car, they would take you to the emerg room anyway. And they'd ask you if you were pregnant and if you didn;t know they'd do a blood test. (happened to a couple of people I know)

so if you were able to get up and walk away with no one wanting to bring youto the hosp and you are prob only 4 weeks along, things should be fine.

I had 2 minor accidents (with my horrible driver friend) while preggo, one at 2 months and one at 8 1/2 months. My son is fine.

Hey health forum medical question yourself.. I hope that someone totals your car.. And your ar freaking out with cops. Emts and towers in your face. As well as traffic buildup. And I really think you need to take a new view and think that maybe since you werent in the situation you dont know waht you are talking about.. I got checked this morning and everything is fine.. I have a big suv and I wasnt touched or harmed.. You really need to be more considerate for other people.. I bet your just unhappy with your life and feel that you need to compinsate for that by making others feel bad. We come here for posetive reinforcement not to be told negative heartbreaking things. One day your going to say something to the wrong person and there gonna kill themselves.. How would you feel knowing that you are responsible or could be responsible.. Please dont respond to my section anymore!!!.

I got into a horrible wreck with an .S.U.V when I was about 3 weeks pregnant. I didn't know I was pregnant yet though. I came $150 form totalling my car.

The airbags didn't come out due to a defect, so we're taking it up with .Mazda.

But in reference to your question, I think the baby should be fine. Depending on if the baby is even implanted into your uterus yet makes a big difference. But i'm sure you're fine. Go home, relax and test again in the morning. I don't know why you would experience sharp cramps down there...Unless you're further along than you know.

Good luck!

i'm sorry you were in an accident. I am sorry you were scared. But, honestly, for the health of you .A.N.D your child, always err on the side of caution and get checked. A visit to the hospital will save you a ton of problems in the future (with the insurance co. Trust me on this. You need to be checked out!).

It was ok.. Thanks for the concern.. And at the time the thought didnt cross my mind that I could be pregnant.. It was my mom who brought that to my attention that night.. But yea I did find that I was pregnant and that everything is ok.. Thanks

Actually I meant the car insurance. Heh. Because you would be compensated for any and all medical costs by the car insurance. That is why people have car insurance ;) it isn't just for smashed up vehicles anymore. It is also for smashed up bodies!

I'm glad you are ok! Have a happy healthy pregnancy.

Ok sandra.. I went that following morning.. I didnt think about being pregnant until my mother mentioned it after the accident.. Umm I also have to be careful because navy doesnt cover caca like that.. Maybe before you jumped down my throat you should have asked me questions. I only wrote this dumb statement slightly after the accident.. O and the emt had to do their little check up I just didnt want the whole enchalda at the time.. I was just asking if it could have an affect and cause a miscarriage because two months ago I did. And well I dont know what to tell you.. I just dont need people jumping down my throat like you so quickly did. And so fast assumed I didnt care.. What the heck do you know.. Look im sorry to have been that harsh but you had me so p"o"ed.
Good luck to you and thanks for you opinion!

Actually....When I wrecked my car..The emt did a once over on me and I refused to go to the hospital. I am in the middle of a lawsuit against the guy I hit. The insurance co. Found him at fault. I went to the hospital the next morning on the emt's advice and had to be prescribed pain meds. Due to the severe whip lash...I just didn't feel it right away.

Sooo...What i'm getting at is I guess every state is different. I'm not gonna settle for anything less that 5,000...But I refused medical treatment from the emt and it has had nothing to do with my lawsuit.

Please be careful on what medication you are taking if you are pregnant, I realize that we all don't think clearly in an emergency such as an accident as we are generally not in our right minds, the main thing is is that noone got seriously injured and hopefully your pregnancy will be okay with your pregnancy as I do realize how horrible it can be so we will just be postive! Please be sure and keep us posted!
The best to you and yours!

i'm sorry that you were in a car accident and i'm glad that everything is okay with you now, but I just wanted to say that no one is ever responsible for someone else's suicide. Implying that someone else could be is just cruel and wrong... Sorry, that just really irritated me. If a mother screams at her son to make his bed and he goes out and hangs himself from a tree, are you going to tell her it's her fault? I think not. He had a mental disorder.
