For the First Time In My Pregnancy...

...I feel like i'm going to throw up. I
did the glucose test yesterday, but it was
a little high, so i'm doing the 3-hour
test today. Yay. Anyway, I just had the
first one done, and she gave me the
glucose drink to drink, and that stuff is
soooooooo nasty, as most of you know. I'm
so disgusted, and I feel like sugar is
solidifying in my stomach or something.
It's just... Ugh.
I dont' know why I made this post. Maybe
i'm just lonely; john had to go to work
and couldn't stay for the appointments.

It's so funny, I keep hearing about how
nasty the drink was but when I got it done
all it tasted like was orange soda w/ the
bubbles and all. My firends up here had
the same one as me but then I have friends
in the states who say it's nasty chalky
shit. Maybe we have better
stuff up here-lol
stay strong and it'll be over soon. Try
not to barf cause they'll just make you
drink more-lol

Lalee,
unfortunatly the 3 hour test's orange
stuff is like three times thicker. I did
pass that test though. It was horrid.
The only thing was that the test was a
fasting test and you couldnt' eat from 12
midnight thru the end of your test. Ack
it was horrid.

I had to do an early glucose test at 9
weeks and after reading things on here I
was dreading having to drink the drink. I
got ready to guzzle it down and get it
over with and it ended up tasting just
like orange soda, bubbles and all! Maybe
different places have different kinds.
This wasn't thick or overly sweet or
anything. Maybe a little sweeter than
orange soda you'd get at the store but not
bad at all.
Anyway, sorry you have to go for the 3
hour test. That doesn't sound fun at all.
Hope everything comes out all right! How
far along are you now?

I still have one more test to go, but I
failed the first two, so it doesn't relly
matter, as far as i'm concerned. I was 9
points over the first after-drink one and
5 points over this last one.
Iheart, i'm 27 weeks.

:x ugh I went thru it 3x yuk yuk . It
was like orange soda with a 20lb bag of
sugay added to it to this day I can not
even look at an orange soda with out it
giving me the dry heaves :lol:

When do u have to take this drink? I
havnt had to and im 17 almost 18 weeks
along.. Im not looking forward to it from
what u people are saying lol... But maybe
in bc we will have the orange soda stuff
dosnt sound as bad as the other stuff

Ohhh I just got my glucouse test done
today too and instead of giving me the
orange nasty stuff they gave me a few
years ago the lady gave me this stuff that
was just like sprite! It was so coool

I have sprite at home that I drink
sometimes because it doesn't have
caffeine. I poured a glass last night and
about halfway through it, when the ice had
started to melt a little, I took a drink
and suddenly tasted that nasty drink all
over again. I poured the rest out.

The drink wasnt bad but I felt really sick
after and almost passed out they said that
was normal, the funny thing was I never
did it with my daughter and if im pregnant
again I refuse to drink it they can prick
my finger and get a blood sugar reading
thats my thought!

I was kind of lucky when I had to do the
test with my 3rd one I drink unsweeten tea
all the time ( also good for morning
sickness) so I asked if I could bring a
glass of it to sip after I had to drink
that orange crap and they said that it was
fine otherwise I would of uped it after
drinking the stuff yuk. :lol:
