How do I treat a Fever due to the Flu? Posted: 06-03-06 21:36pm
i am down with fever and flu.. went to
dostor and was prescribed flu pills and
fever pills. currently coming to 2 days..
fever is flutuating between 37 and 39deg.
does not seem to go down. flu is getting
better. pls help.

If the fever is due to a virus(es) that
also cause the common cold, there is
nothing to worry about. Fevers pass within
a few days. Liquids, vitamin C, and
antipyretics (aspirin, paracetamol) will
help you to overcome the condition. Flu
(influenza) becomes more dangerous,
especially if you suffer from chronic
heart or lung diseases. Therapy for the
flu is the same as for a common cold... if
there are no complications. The situation,
however, becomes different if the fever is
caused by a bacterial infection.
Antibiotics, then, are necessary to
control and rid the body of bacteria.
