Did you know that there is a possibility of getting pregnant without having sexual intercourse?! That's a wake up call to the almost 30% of teens who are playing with sex without "doing it". Some of you may be thinking, "but what if we keep our clothes on and never have skin-to-skin contact?" well, it would depend on how many layers of clothing are between the two people, the more layers, the less chance of pregnancy. However, remember that clothing was designed to breathe -- that means it has little holes in it! Sperm (and other disease-causing bacteria and viruses!) can find their way through a pair of underwear to where they need to be to turn your life upside-down!
Just remember, there are several kinds of "sex" -- intercourse, oral sex, anal sex and mutual masturbation (outercourse) -- and they're all sex! All of them come with risks and very often, one leads to another. Provide yourself with the only protection that is 100% effective against pregnancy and the spread of std's -- choose to abstain. (that means don't do any of it!) wait until you are in a committed-for-life relationship like marriage. It is so worth the wait

I highly doubt you're pregnant, why don't you get a friend to go to the doctor with you so you can find out for sure? You're probably just late from stressing so much.

And then while you're there you can get on birth control so you don't have to worry about this happening again.

Sheena, i'm not sure where you are from - but you can get a pregnancy test at nearly any drug store just about anywhere. There are also family planning clinics in nearly every town (like planned parenthood). They will give you a pregnancy test for free.

Your risk of pregnancy is very low in this instance. I understand you are afraid and confused. You should go to a clinic and get yourself some birth control and some condoms for your boyfriend so this doesn't happen in the future.

There is no way for anyone on a message board (even the doctor) to tell you if you are, or could be pregnant. Only a pregnancy test can say for sure. Good luck.

Ok im almost 19 I had my first kid when I was 16 its not that bad!!!! I have 2 kids now n one on the way... I love kids n if your thinking about abortion your nuts!!!! Thats so wrong a babys alive from the moment its conceived!!! Yea its hard having a kid at a young age but trust me its so worth it n if you dont want kids then why dont you do sumthing to prevent it! Duh you cant get pissed if you are prego when its you n ur bfs fault!!! That baby didnt choose to be conceived so why hurt that child???!!!!! :x

I think it's beyond ridiculous that some people feel grown enough to have sexual contact, but completely flip out when consequences arise from their actions. Well, you know what? If sex didn't feel good, we would have died out a long time ago. The entire reason for sex is so that our species survives. Don't be surprised if you wind up pregnant after fooling around. I mean, damn, it's how humans are made. Be a grownup and accept responsibility for your actions. If you can't do that, keep your legs closed and tell your boyfriend or whoever to keep his fluids, whether on his fingers or wherever else, well away from you. Oh, and if you're so well versed on how pregnancy can occur besides having intercourse, then don't flip out when you play the game and hit bingo. (sorry, this is long, but for good reason. Try to bear with me)

not to sound too much like a doctor, but not all sperm can make a baby!!!


Sperm are like (pardon the comparison) football players. There are the really strong, important guys (the "sprinters" or the ones "carrying the ball"), those guys make the actual baby. And then there are the "guards" who gather around the important guys to protect them from other men's sperm (if two men's sperm meet, they will fight and kill each other) and from the defenses of your body while they swim!


Before one of those strong guys can get you pregnant, he has to endure nearly 2 weeks of swimming through life threatening places (life threatening to a sperm, anyways). First, he and his "guards" must all find their way into your vagina, without contacting too much air (air can kill them). Then they have to get all the way up to your cirvex and sqeeeeeze through that and go into your uterous. Through all of this, there are chemicals, cells and oranisms in those areas that are trying to kill the sperm!!!


If they make it through that, then they have to get up to where the egg is (sometimes in or near the falopian tube), wich have millions of cillia (not sure how its spelled, but they are tiny, wiggling hair-like things that try to grab on to the sperm and keep it from swimming up any further).

During this whole process, the "guards" are all being killed off one by one.


Then, if the sperm even makes it that far, now it has to fight its way inside of the egg, which is not an easy job at all!


I'm sure there have been very very rare cases of "sperm on the sheets" or "sperm on his finger" getting a girl pregnant, but they are probably far too rare to get excited about. I mean those sperm must be some die-hard little animals and she must have been fertile as it gets!!!


I think they tell teens that to keep them from having sex. Now, you shouldn't be having sex, and not just because you can get pregnant, or catch a desease, but for many, many other reasons. Also, if you spych yourself into it, you can make yourself feel symptoms. I wouldn't put all my faith in it, but you can go see a doctor if you want.

However, it is extremely, highly unlikely that a sperm survived air contact, and then survived all the defenses in your body too, with so few guards. I would say, more like impossible, my dear.

And I know this isn't the issue at all, but you certainly can't get pregnant by swallowing sperm.....There is no tube that connects your vagina to your stomach. And even if there was, the sperm would never survive the journey, because they would be instantly killed and melted into nothing by your stomach acids.
