Almost time "i want to be a mommy"! Good luck and let us know!

Jozzie- you never know. My husband and I joke around all the time about how i'll probably feel symptoms every month...But how the month i'll be preggers is probably going to be the same month that I don't have any symptoms! Stay positive and relax!

So here's my newest concern-

dh and I are really trying to stick to the every other day rule...But if the sperm on average only survives for 24 hours...Isn't it possible that we could have no sperm alive when the egg is ready...Possibly on the day in between our sex days? I am really just confused and I am starting to think my odds will be better if we have sex everyday...Even if the sperm is not as abundant! It doesn't make sense! It's such a hit and miss circumstance as it is...What if today is my most fertile day, but I can't have sex until tomorrow!!!!! Any ideas or suggestions?

As you can see, I am starting to become an emotional wreck again! Let the countdown begin!

Just did a little research (by the way, have I told you I am a teacher, and how bored I am during the summer when school's out and I have nothing to do). Lol

says sperm in your tubes can survive 7 days, on average 3-4.
Sperm that stays in the vagina can only survive about 6 hours.

So I guess the everyother day method is valid and would work if enough healthy sprem makes it to your tubes, and stays there!

Maybe I was just looking for an excuse to have sex everyday!

Fingers crossed! We need a positive on this post!

Hi there- so glad to see that so many of you are going through the same thing in life. Trying to become pregnant without going nuts!!

I have been off the pill for 4.5 months. First 3 months 27 day cycles and the fourth month 37 days!! I really thought I was pregnant. Had light light cramps for a week and sore breasts. But had 2 negative test and eventually got my period day 37(somewhat lighter than normal).
:(

i believe I should go back charting a 27 day cycle this month. I am on day 8 today. Hope I do not get my period on july 11th (day 27)

so, will anyone be joining me in the waiting game in the next couple of weeks?

Good luck to everyone and I will aim for the everyother day thing :d

This has a been a good post for the waiting game! I think it's going to be the lucky one too...For all of us!

That is wierd that our cycles are almost exact! June 11th is my big day also. So I guess we can keep eachother company. Good luck to everyone!

Not So Happy This Month...
Posted: 06-26-06 15:58pm

I am feeling real lousy today. If you remember, I told you I had to go away with out my dh this past weekend. I think I ovulated on saturday...But thanks to all the bad weather- of course the flights were delayed. Got home soooo late, or rather early this morning. So I think we missed it. We did our business before I left (thursday night)...But our chances are low. Real low. By the time dh gets home from work today...My egglett would be disintegrating rapidly, if not completely.

To make it worse, I sat in the airport for 11 hours friday and 7 hours on sunday. Even worse, it was for a bridal shower that I had to bust my butt over. Soooo much money....Sooooo much stress......And I had to sleep in homes that have no air-conditioning (i'm a little spoiled).

I am so angry we missed it this month. And i'm even angrier that I have to fly again and miss another month next month (for a bachelorette party that I won't even be able to drink at).

I can't say no, she's my best friend....But I am so depressed. So much for the positive attitude. I feel like i'm never going to conceive.

 :( :x

I hear what you are saying notpatient, that sucks you had to be away to a wedding! You never know though thursday night could have been good enough( less than 2 days)! Try and keep a positive attitude. Just watch you could become pregnant in these next 2 monthes when you least expect it!

I on the otherhand am due the 11th of july as well if it is a regular 27 day cycle. But since it was 37 days last month, I really have to try and figure when I will ovulate. I hope I have a regular cycle of 27 days or none at all :) :)

did you figure out which is best. Sex everyday around ovulation or everyother day?

Hope you have a better day. You could be feeling crappy since you have been traveling, sitting in airports, wishing you were home. Maybe a long shower and good nights sleep would help-i don't know but thats what helps me...

If not im going to the doc next month he said he would do ultras ounds for cyst and check for not pregnant reasons so will see. Good luck to you!

Hey shelbes,

i did do some research on the topic of how often we should be actually "trying" during our cycle. I even spoke with my doctor and everything comes back to the same answers:

sex every day could mean the sperm may have more motility (because they are 'newer').

Sex every day could also mean the sperm count may not be as high.

For most people, the sperm count and motility will not be an issue, because the man's sperm is healthy. So every day or every other day really won't matter.

Some say that more often = more likely, so every day is better. But for those with low sperm counts, recommended time to wait is 1 - 3 days in between.

I can't find the actual percentage difference right now, but it was so minimal I don't think it's really going to matter.

Here's my latest theory...

Most people get preggers on vacation and claim it's because they weren't trying, but I think it's because they are having more sex than usual. My hubby and I are very active and are proud of it...But we certainly have more sex on vacations (and I assume that's typical of most relationships)!
Like I said before, we are trying as much as possible (every day if possible), but at least every other day. I'll let you know in a couple of months if it works out for us (when we can actually be around eachother on the important days). With these weekend trips, for right now, we are screwed...Actually not screwed on the right days! Lol sorry, couldn't help it!

Good luck! 2 more weeks...Oh, and since your irregular right now, don't stop trying until af actually arrives. You never know! At least it will help with the waiting!

Sorry about af making her visit, musikmaker. That sucks! :(

you know, af is very much like my mother in law. She shows up unexpected- whenever she wants...I don't want here here...And she makes a mess of our plans! Lol

go out and have wine or beer or whatever you like and enjoy yourself (however hard that is).

Wishing you a happier july!

I work at a daycare too and I think that most of the moms that already have 2 yr. Olds are pregnant again and then they have the nerve to complain! One of my sisters is pregnant and the other just had a miscarriage. I always see pregnant women at the mall to. Makes me really jealous

Has anyone tried to give you "how to" books that have already helped them? I don't know about you, but that is like a slap in the face to me! What's worse than seeing preggo girls...Seeing pregnant girls smoking and drinking! So I know what you mean when you say to yourself, "why you?"

don't worry girls...It will be our turn someday!

One question: how are you going to be able to work in a bakery when you're pregnant!!?? I personally have no will power without being pregnant! I could just imagine!
