Moving to a Hotter Climate With Ht -would That Be a Problem? Posted: 06-08-06 07:56am
Hi, I have had hypertension for a few
years now and take atenolol and water
pills. They kind of keep it under control
but it is still fairly high. I currently
live in pennsylvania but am in the process
of being interviewed for a job in fort
lauderdale. I am of scottish/norwegian
stock so don't do terribly well in a hot
climate but I am prepared to 'make do' if
I get the job. However, I was wondering
if moving to somewhere like florida would
dramataically increase my health risk due
to the hypertension as it would be quite a
change of climate from pa. Can anyone
please tell me if it would likely be too
risky? Thanks for your help.

I think the stress of moving to a new job
would probably do more damage than just
being in a different climate. Sure, you
might be a little hot down there but you
can always go inside. Just don't worry
about it and focus on your interview and
if you really want the job.
