Aching Armpits/tingling/numb Legs And Wrists/lightheaded... Posted: 06-08-06 21:02pm
My symptoms are: positive ana antibody,
lightheadedness, pain in wrists down to my
fingers, tingling & numbness down back
of my legs and lower buttocks, aching in
back and stomach (the pain moves around),
sensation of a racing heart (but it is not
when I check my pulse), small to trace
amount of pericardial effusion (fluid
around the heart), gastritis,
hypothyroidism, small sliding hiatus
hernia & schatzki's rings. I know
that I sound like a hypochondriac, but I
really am not. All of these symptoms
cropped up just 4 months ago (except for
being hypothyroid 14 years), I havae
always been healthy. I am 38 years old
with 4 kids 2-15 yrs. I am seeing a
cardiologist, internist & surgeon
& family Dr. I would like to hear
from others with lupus with similar
symptoms & stories. I am still in the
early diagnosis stage.
Thanks!!!

I can understand what your going through!
I am 33 years old. Have 4 children.
I am very healthy, don't smoke, drink,
etc.. In shape. Have had some health
problems for about 4 years now on and off.
Have had 2 episodes that seemed like
strokes, however dr's can't say whether it
was migraine variants or tia
(mini-stroke). Tingling and pins &
needles feeling in hands and feet. Hands
and feet get very cold. Sometimes just
one hand, or just one foot. Really
weird when you can tell a temp. Change
between your hands or feet! Tired,
muscle aches- mostly in hands. My
fingers and hands ache alot. Sometimes
knees, elbows, legs, feet hurt as well.
Have a positive ana. Have a rash on nose
and cheeks that comes and goes. Have
recently noticed my hair is falling out!
Auto-immune disorders run in my family.
Sister has lupus, scleraderma,
sjogren's, and more. Mom has ra, and
oseoarthritis. Haven't been in over a
year to my rheumatologist, however I am
going in a week. It is very frustrating
not knowing what is going on. Hope you
get some answers! Sorry I don't have
any advice, just thought i'd share my
symptoms..... Good luck.

Tingling Posted: 11-06-06 06:13am
I was relieved to hear someone else is
having tingling in hands (i'm not crazy!).
Mine just started a week ago .I used to
get migraines as a kid ,so I thought that
was the reason for the tingling but there
has not been any headaches with it.
Either of my hands get cold and tingle,
also around my mouth and a little on the
nose. So weird!
I've been frustrated for 18 months! I've
had to quit work as I was a sales rep as
driving became dangerous due to fatigue
and lack of concentration(had several
accidents). Then I started having all kinds
of symptoms- headaches (behind my eyes),
loss of 20 lbs.,night sweats, memory
problems,word finding problems,lack of
concentration,joint
pain(hips,back,neck,knees),itchy skin,arm
rashes,nausea, morning
stiffness,dizziness, seizures.
Neg-ana,mild pos. Igm, low complement c3
c4.
Has anyone had the same symptoms? Doc is
hesitant to diagnose lupus because of neg.
Ana but I think it is any comments
appreciated!!!!

If you do have lupus sometimes in your
life, be sure to see lot of specialists
doctors. My mom have lupus flares up
during her menopause without knowing her
family history having lupus. She has late
onset lupus, as they call it. During
menopause, that's when your hormone
depleted. That's when you are most
vunerable since your body immune system
attack your body. Most obgyn doctors do
not know much about lupus and they think
it's normal to go thru menopause and they
can't detected early. So one thing lead
to another, she has kidney, so she went to
see kidney specialist, cardiologist, eyes
doctor, urologist. One of her eyes retina
has been damaged due to steroid
medications, if discover early, then it
can be treated. It's a hole in the
retina. She did colonscopy for hemroid,
endoscopic for esophagus inflamation due
to the heavy medication , steroids. So be
sure to see a lot of doctors and
specialists. If you don't agree one
doctor, go see another one for 2nd
opinions. It doesn't hurt to give a try.
Be sure to have good health insurance and
life insurance too.
