Scared to Death
Posted: 06-09-06 10:06am

I am on ortho lo and I had to missed my 14th pill due to vomiting and diarrhea. I started bleeing bright red lightly that day and part of the next.I doubled up the next day like the instruction packet says. I only missed one pill.I also take my pills on time.I was worried so I continued to take the rest of my pills. I have not had intercourse since before I was sick. I am on my sugar pills I usually start on tues or wed and today is friday and nothing. I thought maybe the break through bleeding messed my cycle up. I don't have any pregnancy symptoms. I am still scared to death and worried sick. I was wondering of anyone has had a similar situation. Please help :?:

Hey there. I think you should take a pregnancy test, because the results would be accurate by now. I'm not in your exact same situation, but i'm on the same pill and have been sick for the past week and I started bleeding 5 days before starting my placebos. I'm not even on my placebos yet and my midwife said I should take a pregnancy test. I take my pills on time too, every night. I think you should be fine especially if you doubled up... But to ease your mind, you can take a test. I'll probably take one in a few days.

Anytime you miss pills breakthrough bleeding and spotting is very common and usually expected by most women.

You doubled up which is very good, the best thing you can do is take an early pregnancy test.

Thank you both for replying so soon.

I knew that I probably needed to take a early pregnancy test. I was trying to wait it out and see my period came before I did so.

I started bleeding really heavy last night with bad cramps. Its tapered off and is lighter this morning. I still will probably take a test to ease my mind though. If not I am gonna resume taking my pills as normal. I just hope everything is ok.

Keep taking those pills...

If you chose to continue am unexpected pregnancy birth control pills would do no harm... Some women do keep pregnancies even if they were on the pill and have healthy babies and pregnancies.

Thanks for all your advice. It makes means a lot to have someone to answer my questions.

Oh don't worrry I am gonna keep taking my pills. I also totally forgot that when I get really stressed in my daily life, I have been know to miss periods on the pill. Its been awhile though. I have been majorly stressed out about other things and my worrying about my period hasn't helped things.

Thanks again your an angel
