Gallbladder Surgery Success? Posted: 06-10-06 10:00am
Hi,
the more I read online, the more I worry.
Everyone that posts something on any
sites talking about their gallbladder
removal, they always say they still have
symptoms and problems! Some even say its
worse!
So the question is, do any of you have
success stories where the removal of your
gallbladder fixed all of your problems and
there were never any complications or
reoccurence of symptoms?
I guess the important thing to note is
that most people are on forums to work
through their problems and they wouldn't
be here if there weren't any problems.
If one million gallbladder surgeries are
performed in the us a year, surely the
ones with problems/reoccurence are only in
the minority?
Also, does anyone experience constant
pain?
I have:
-pain underneath right ribs
-pain through my back
-pain in my shoulder blade area
these are made worse by laying on my side
and make it so hard to sleep.
-nausea
-lots of gas
i've had these constant pains for over two
months!
Do people have constant pain instead of
classic "gallbladder attacks" ?
I went to the er about two months ago and
had an abdonminal ultrasound (only showed
2 small, 4mm polyps which ive had for
years), pelvic ct, abd ct scan, and
elevated bilirubin.
I'm scheduled for a hida in a week and a
half.
But I suffer from anxiety and panic so i'm
freaking out that because this pain is so
constant that I should rush to the er and
get another ultrasound since this will
destroy my organs or something!

I had my gallbladder removed a month ago,
and so far - no pain - except some
incision tenderness.

It was easy...
They give you a small iv - didnt hurt...
Then inject a tracer into the iv...
You lay on a table for about 45
minutes...And they take pictures.
Its really easy, kinda boring.
I didnt get cck for some reason, but they
said my gallbladder was normal.

Oh... Nice to hear that your gb's fine...
They won't find anything if they didn't
injected a radionuclide to you... The
scanner or the gamma camera visualize the
movement of the substance injected thru
the iv...
