No, at this point in the technology there
is not any way to help with scar tissue.
The doctors can do hypertonic saline
injections into the scar tissue. These
injections are done to help soften the
scar tissue. It has a decent success rate
but it is not permanent.
I am waiting to be scheduled for facet
injections at l5/s1 and l4/l5. I am very
hesitant because I have yet to read any
good conclusive info about these
injections.
If you can do it, you should ask your
primary care doctor to refer you to a pain
management specialist. This doc should be
able to at least medicate you well enough
to help manage the pain.
It sucks to be in pain, I know as do many
others of the regulars here and on many
other back pain sites. It is something
that you and I and many other have to face
for life and without medicine I know I
would not be around to even talk about it.
Pain is probably the toughest thing I
have ever dealt with.
Good luck,
brian
