Okay, so i'm a ballet dancer, and it's
extremely difficult to be dancing
pre-professionally and to be bigger than
all the other girls in the company. I've
always felt disgusting compared to them,
so I decided to go on a diet about a month
and a half ago. Now, at 120 pounds, i'm
12 pounds lighter than I was 6 weeks ago,
and i'm feeling a whole lot happier, and I
don't feel sick or anything. Everybody
around me, like my parents and friends,
are getting on my case saying i'm becoming
anorexic or something. I am for sure not
anorexic because I am fully in control of
what I am doing, I know I can stop at any
point if I want to. And it's not like
i'm starving myself, I still eat, just
less than before, which is what most
people do on diets, right?
What can I say to everybody to put their
minds at ease, because i'm doing this in a
perfectly fine way? Has anybody ever
been in this situation, and knows how to
handle it?
Much appreciated,
jenny

But are you really losing weight the right
way? Some people convince themselfs that
their not doing any harm to themselfs when
really they are, dats what I even did to
myself. It wasnt till my friend got
really worryied about me that I took a
long hard look at myself and what I was
doing and relised it was wrong but by that
stage it was two late and I couldnt stop.
I can deff understand were your coming
from on the hole dance thing. Danceing
dose put alot of pressure on your weight.
Just look afta yourself girl!!! :-)
always ere 2 chat, lola xoxo

Yeh I think so because otherwise i'd be
losing weight really really fast which i'm
not. I'm only losing on average 2 pounds
a week, and for someone as big as me
that's not a whole lot, so i'm pretty sure
i'm doing it well. I'm never hungry
because I eat enough, and sometime's I get
a tad dizzy but that's normal I think.

Getting dizzy is the worst thing. I
always get dizzy from not eating, and the
worse thing is now that I think of it I
use to always make an excuse for it. Like
saying to myself that I must be getting a
cold or something like that. When really
its because I wasnt eating.
This should make you realise that your
body is crying out for food. You said you
eat enough but if your getting dizzy you
must not be. And since your a dancer its
even worse because your body needs alot of
engery, and your just not providing
yourself with it.
What will happen if your dancing and
you faint? I hope things dont go to far
before you realise what your doing.

Yes, but there can be problems even if you
keep eating!
Your eating may not be as appropriate as
you find it. Why don't you go see a
nutritionist? That way you would expose
your doubts ans troubles and get an
healthy eating plan that would nourish
your organism as well as helping you
losing weight, if needed!
That's the best you can do.

No, with the appropriate plan, you could
even lose weight!
