Q: Any False Negative Victims?

Hello everyone. I've been posting in the "getting pregnant" forum, but now need help from women that have alrerady been there! My dh and I have been ttc. I am due for af today. I took a test yesterday morning and it was negative. I took the early results first response hpt.

I still have promising symptoms. The only symptom I no longer have, are those dreadful cramps. Everything is tip top except for my sore nipples and my upset stomach. I was wondering if any of you have gotten false negatives as late as the day before your period? If so, how long did it take to get a positive.

(please understand that I know it's quite possible i'm not pregnant, but I am very regular, so now I am really wondering???!!! :? ).

I didn't get a positive until the day my period was due. The day before, I tested negative. Keep your chin up, sweetie, you just might be!

Thanks!
I really appreciate your feedback. I was hoping someone else had a false negative the day before. It gives me a little more hope!

Sometimes it takes up to a week to get a positive, it depends on how much hcg is in your system.

Really Depressed...
Okay, I still haven't gotten a visit from af. I am now a day late. So, this morning I had my dh run to the store and pick up a test so I could take it with my first urination (i here that's when the hormones are easiest to detect). Well, the test came back negative. I feel so let down. I could have sworn I was pregnant.

For those of you responding and saying it may take a week, has this actually happened to any of you? What I mean is, anyone test negative even the day after their missed period, and still pregnant?

I am trying not to get my hopes up too high. I know I could be causing my symptoms just because I really want a bun in my oven (for a long time now). However, reassurance would be comforting right now!

It happened to me, I tested the day after af was due .....Negative, I then tested one week after af.....Negative again. I actually didn't test positive until two weeks after af, and it was a faint line. I would say to wait a couple more days like until the end of the week then test again.

Hi notpatient, go to the pregnancy section and there is a post there with the title"was worried of mc so I had blood test done" it was posted by jknight and she found out she was pregnant after she was 10 weeks along, after 4 failed hpts. It shows that anything is possible.

I tested the day after I was supposed to get my period so I was one day late and I got a negative.. Plus I tested in the afternoon and not in the morning. I waited a week and then tested again with first morning urine and thats when I got my posotive.

I got three negatives. My first positive was may 1st, something like 47 days after my last period. I'm pretty sure this isn't usual though. But false negatives happen, keep your fingers crossed!

Hi all!
The date of my last af was the 29th april, which lasted 5 days. My af is always regular and I am now 2 weeks and 2 days late, I have had 2 hpt in the 1st week of my missed af, then 1 at a family planning clinic on monday, that was negative! I have never been this late before! The weird thing is that I am having cravings for pickled eggs and am noticing I am putting on a bit of weight,as anybody experienced anything like this, any advice would be gratfully appreiciated, thanks

Most of the information I have read was to wait 7-10 days after your missed period to test to get the 99.9% accuracy with the hpt (even then you have to account for user error). That seems like an eternity when you are trying or scared that you are...

I know we are trying and I still have a few more days to wait until I miss my af... Here for hoping.

Maybe Next Month...
Well ladies, af paid a very unwelcome visit today. She also brought extra harsh cramps and extra heavy everything else. I am very sad today. However, my husband has been great...He kept text messaging me at work saying everything will work out and we'll try even harder next month. He's so cute, he keeps saying we'll be pregnant with our boy next month (he wants a boy real bad, but I know he would be happy with a girl too). I am going to go out tonight and have a few beers. No, i'm going to have a bunch! I'll even go in the hot tub!

I'm also nervous because I just looked at my calendar and saw that I am due to ovulate the weekend i'll be away (i am going to ny for my best freinds bridal shower without my husband). So next month isn't looking too wonderful either. Hubby assured me we will be busy friday morning and first thing sunday night. I just hope we don;t miss that fragile window when I can conceive.

Good luck to the rest of you and here's to me waiting another month with all of you great people! Thanks for your support. It really helped.
