Just a quick one, someone said on another forum that if someone has an abortion that its hard for them to get pregnant again afterwards? Is that true???

No, provided there are no complications with the abortion there is no evidence that it affects future fertility. If anything, at least you know that you are fertile and able to become pregnant!

That's exactly right. There is controversial statistics stating that in actuality, your chances of becoming infertile are actually higher after a full pregnancy than after an abortion. But of course, there are statistics reading the other way as well. Overall, you're at no more risk for infertility than a woman who gave birth; and godness knows women who give birth can go on to have many, many, many more children.

Lol eiri, well that girl who sed it in the first place said that where the baby was, is damaged tissue and the egg wont implant itself there again. I mean like if you have an abortion at 9 weeks it will have less damage than a girl who had an abortion at 16 weeks cause the baby is bigger? Is that true????
I dont know I was just concerned cause the clinic didnt say anything about complications on conceieveing after abortion. But that is a big weight off my mind, thanks eiri and moo :)

Lol, that's bull... Think about it! By the time a baby is given birth to, the "place the baby was" ie the placenta (i assume?) is huuuge! So according to that, it'd be almost impossible for ladies who gave birth to get pregnant again. That girl was lying to you, although she may have thought she was telling the truth.

Everyone is right ! Yes you have a higher chance of complications and scarring having an abortion in later pregnancy vs. Earlier. And having an abortion with no complication will not affect your future fertility.

Oh right nice one! Guess I have nothing to worry about then. I dunno where this girl got her information from, alot of people on here really dont know what they are talking about...Another question. I guess everyone else in here has had an abortion? Sooo what I wanna know is, before my abortion I had 2 day light periods, after I now have 5 day heavy painful periods. Will they ever go back to normal or will they be like this now forever?
Thanks x

It may take many months for your body to return to the cycle it had before the abortion; and it may never be exactly the same way it was. But I would think that you should see some improvements.

most cases it won't, in fact you are more likely to become steril from childbirth.

Well in that case if I have 2-3 kid and I do then at least I have had my kids. Not aborted them because even one child for me would be enough.
If abortions do go wrong I am glad that I would be aborting for that risk to happen. Unless I had to which probably find ways not to.
