Q: Missed Period After Stopping the Pill

I have a question related more to birth control. I stopped taking birth control after last month's cycle was done, and according to that cycle I should have had my period saturday june 3rd. I am 10 days late today. I had sex once after I stopped the pill, it was early in the cycle and we used a condom. What are the chances of me being pregnant? I am 21 right now, and I have been on the pill since september 2005. I will be resuming with first day start when I get my period again, but I need to know if this is normal...For such a delay to happen after stopping the pill. Please let me know. Thank you.

Why did you stop taking the pill?

It is normal, since you body has been dependent on the pills hormones to inform it when to have your period. You can miss periods, be late, have random bleeding, etc. Take a pregnancy test if you are worried about pregnancy.

Many women experience irregular cycles for months to come after stopping the pill. It is nothing to be alarmed by since its due to hormones adjusting themselves....

Normal
That happened to me after stopping the pill to ttc our second baby- my period was two weeks later than it should have been- I totally thought I was pregnant for a week, but tests came back neg. After that, I figured i'd start trying again, and got my period !
My cycle must've still been a abit whacked the next month, because that period only lasted three days, and I got pregnant, like two days after it finished when I shouldn't have been fertile for at least another 9 days.

Your body just doesn't know what to do with itself when all those hormones it's gotten used to getting suddenly stop coming.
