Scared !!! ( Same As Teen Preg. ) Posted: 06-14-06 08:01am
Ok at the end of my pregnancy I started
retaining fluids. Well when I went in to
have casey since I had the epidural and
the emergency c- section they put the
cathater ( however its spelled ) in and
they watched my fluid out take. Well in
the hospital it got seriously low
. Well it went up enough for them to
disscharge me and they told me that the
swelling I had now was normal for the next
2 weeks but I needed to be careful cause I
could get fluid in my lungs and get
pnemonia ( however its spelled ). Well
now if I lay down my chest feels heavy and
its hard for me to breath. Im still very
swollen and my chest hurts so bad. Im so
terrifyed cause I dont want to be away
from my baby but I also want to be able to
enjoy my time with him to but I feel
misserable.

I'd call your doctor, because normally
once you deliver your symptoms should go
away. I would think that by now they
would have. When I retained so much
fluids they wouldn't let me lay down flat
because of it getting into my lungs but
after they delivered the baby bout 5 days
after his birth I was back to normal. If
your chest is hurting and you don't feel
well you need to call your doc and make
sure that you are ok. If you are not
doing well it will hinder you from taking
proper care of your little guy. (i don't
mean that you aren't taking good care of
him but if you feel bad he can pick that
up and tend to make him cranky too.) that
is what your doc is there for....So i'd
call him. If being away from your little
skoot for a little means getting better,
i'd have to say 'get better!!!"

Jenna, I had a c-sec with trey and they
told me the same thing causei was so
bloody swollen too, I was in the hosp for
5 days and after a few days at home I was
ok again. (i remember it was the first
tim ei could see my ankle bones in 2
months!!) how long did they keep you in
the hosp? Maybe they should have kept
you longer. I f you're really feeling
awfull, then get to an er.

Did they give you that little breathing
test thing, where you have to breath into
the tube and they would tell you to breath
longer? The one I had was launched
accross the room because it hurt so bad to
take a breath after the c-section and they
wanted me to breath longer and harder.
It wasn't happening.
If you had to do that and still have your
tube that measures your breathing why
don't you try doing that a few times too
so you can tell your doc what the
breathing level is. That might help.

They only kept me in the hossy for 3 days
and then told me I was doing alot better
and I could go home. They didnt give me
the breathing test they just told me to do
these breathing exersizes when I put a
pillow on my tummy and breath in deep 3
times then on the 3rd breath really deep
and let it out with a cough.
Im feeling better now since I have jumped
on my inhaler but if they problems keep
going on im going to call my doc. And
tell him to make room im coming in. Im
scheduled for the 21st to go in for my
post partum so well see if I stay feeling
better then i'll wait it out. I'll keep
you guys updated !!!
